  • NPC Fellow Questions

I've recently been paying a lot of attention to NPC, never knew how fun it was to level'em. Just got the little midget to 42 and he is looking great with his heavy armor path in Sandy. Too great, in fact. I don't want to lose his image as the armor gets higher. Something about a taru samurai makes me smile.

So apparently this is possible by locking the armor. Currently my bond is up to 50, just recently finished the limit cap quest. No matter where I look, I can't find a guide which shows the exact bond level where you gain your armor locks.

Then there's another thing. When I finally do get an armor lock, it's just gonna be one. Hardly helpful. I saw the AF Points list on FFXIWiki and noticed the Increase Fashion Advice section. It's not avaliable when I look in-game, so I assume it'll appear when I get armor locks. So my question for that is,

Does the option appear when you get your first or last armor lock? If first, does it only open the last lock for the future, or by buying it, you unlock all four locks right then and there while not having to wait for futher bond levels?

Hopefully someone who is/was interested in their fellow can answer these questions... or can at least understand what I mean.

    Re: NPC Fellow Questions

First, if you look at the wiki's guide, you'll see you get your first lock at bond 60 (see how the top border of the first lock lines up with the top border of bond 60?).

Second, yes, you have to get the first armor lock before you can purchase more with AF points. And it doesn't open all of them up, it's just one more lock than you'd have otherwise. (I'd have one lock without AF points, I bought one, now I have two.)

Edit: Wiki says it gives you "all four" options because without this, you'd only get three total.

There is no rush. If you're not willing to take your time, don't be surprised when no one wants to give you much of theirs.
