    Re: New location, new problems

Somehow I knew you had an issue with that laptop.

If you're really looking to get back to FFXI on your laptop, the fastest way to do that would be to start with formatting the HDD.

      Re: New location, new problems

Well, that's a last resort for me, so I'm gonna try re-installing FFXI first. I lose my macros, but hey, at least I don't have to lose everything else.

Are you sure your selecting your new connection point on your laptop and is not defaulting to your @ home settings? (sometimes its the little things)

I dunno how a direct connection can only be defaulted to a single network, but I tried re-configuring my Local Area Connection, and still a no-go.

I dont know much about computers, but to me it sounds like an internet problem and not a FFXI problem, are you using a router? Try unplugging your ethernet and plugging it into a different port. I have had that problem before but only on my ps2, and it turned out the firewall in my router was blocking one of the ports from connecting..........

Like I said I dont know much about computers, so I hope you can atleast understand that lol.

                  Re: New location, new problems

I've recently established that the problem is my computer, rather than the connection itself. Thanks anyways for the suggestion.
