Fastest job to level 30

Well I was wondering what the fastest Standard job from 1-30 is and possibly where to train...

Do you mean solo or party play? If it's party play then I would say White Mage. Everyone needs a healer for the party. If you mean solo, I'm kinda leaning towards Monk. Monk seems to do fairly well on it's own at the early levels.

Getting to 30 ASAP is kinda pointless if you don't level something thats beneficial for the job you're aiming to unlock, which is what I sense is your reason to get to 30 so quickly.

What jobs are you intending to quest for at 30? Tell us this and we can give you a better idea of how to progress to 30.

I'd say MNK to 18, unlock subjob, then WAR to 30...

OK then, what others have said - Monk to 18 then Warrior to 30 would probably be the best. At higher levels (60+) Samurais also will make use of Thief as a subjob, but earlier on you'll get more out of Warrior than you will Thief, so just aim for getting THF to 37 later on down the road and get WAR to 37 first.

You may also wish to unlock the Ninja and Dancer jobs when you hit level 30, as both also prove to be useful for Samurais various situations.

Well, I have to say that nothing is fast and easy in this game when it comes to leveling. Used to be that whms had the fast track but now lower level parties are usually power leveled so they aren't even needed and solo'ing whm can be pure hell. Your best bet is to stay with war or mnk. At level 18 you'll do a quest to open up your sub job and then you'll be switching to either one for a sub. Unless you want to look like a rmt and just go to 30 with no sub and people can laugh at you. Patience, you'll get there...enjoy the trip along the way.

By the way, never level a job based on how fast you can get to 75. Level the job that you enjoy the most.

But If I did monk to 18 and warrior to 30 wouldn't I not be able to use warrior as a sub until level 60 on my samurai?

No, you wouldn't not be unable to use warrior as your subjob. (Sheesh with the stacked negatives.)

Once you get a subjob at 18, you can, at any time, use any job and subjob combination you have available. Your subjob's level is restricted to half (rounded down) of your current main job's level.

If you have MNK at 18, WAR at 30, and SAM at 1, you can be:

MNK18/WAR9, MNK18/SAM1, WAR30/MNK15, WAR30/SAM1, SAM1/MNK1, SAM1/WAR1. The two in red are stupid to do, though, since the subjob is under cap.
