Just now i found my details for my old character, and was wondering since im on a trial with my new character can i swap back to it but also how can i change card details on that account and not have the charges go through on it before i swap if that makes sense

If I'm understanding you correctly, you want to use your 30 day free trial on your old account? You can not. If you reactivate your old account, you will be billed.

If you are saying that you would like to merge both accounts, you can not. If you choose to keep both characters then you will be paying two full $12.95's every month. I have tried to get 2 accounts merged but I knew it would fail. They would much rather get $26 a month than $14.

As far as cc info goes, log into POL and then you will have to go to Content ID and reactivate your old ID. In the process of doing so you should have to input all the correct info since it will be like starting over.
