  • Donating to FFXIO

Is there some sort of Paypal account we can send shinies to?

I just know that a forum is a growing and living creature, and bandwidth and storage space isn't cheap.

How can the good patrons of the forum help out!?!?

      Re: Donating to FFXIO

FFXIOnline is offered as a free community service, and has never solicited for donations. The staff here are all volunteers, and the only thing we ask for is that people participate in the forum discussions if that's what they want to do, and that a certain level of civility and decorum are maintained.

There totally used to be a way to donate. I remember Feba pointing it out when he pulled a bunch of us over from Alla.

Could we donate in exchange for the ability to act like total jackasses? Something like Papal Indulgences?

Also I thought that Taskmage blackmailed PiNG and that's why he's a admin now, and PiNG has to pay weekly to prevent his legs from being broken.

LOL. It's rather hard to get PiNG's attention these days. I see him log onto the PlayStation Network from time to time but he always ignores my messages (probably has them set to not notify on receipt :/ ).

On a more serious note, what if some of us feel the need to donate? While the money wouldn't go to the admins or any person really involved with the forum, I think it wouldn't be a bad thing to let some of us help to pay for the costs to actually run it -- I can only imagine how much bandwidth is spent just on Feba alone, much less the rest of us.

I really am glad I'm not the person who said it.

Could just try to find some of the Mods Wii numbers and Gift them things through the Wii Shop channel. XBL/PSN too if they can do that.

from what I've heard from PiNG, the costs of hosting the site are rather large, and about all he gets from advertisement is enough to buy lunch every month. I don't really think donations to hosting would help much; this has come up before though, I'll have to look.

                            Exactly.

Also, when I said "I'll have to look", I meant "you'll have to look".

I think I saw some on the front page. Once. A long time ago.

But, regardless of whether the total donations add up to the cost of running the site or not, it doesn't mean you should forego the idea all together. $50 or $100 in donations is $50 or $100 less that has to be paid out of pocket, even if you feel it's worth it.
