Re: Help, Character textures are messed up

Thank you very much for this post and the link. I was having the same problem with my Inspiron 1525 running Vista 32 and was able to fix it with this driver.

Instead of uninstalling my existing driver and having the computer detect the FFXI-friendly version, (which it didn't detect even after rebooting!) I selected "Browse my computer", "Let me pick", and then "Have disk" at the bottom. That let me browse directly to the file I wanted ("igdlh.nfi" in the "Graphics" folder included in the zip file above) and install it without having to bother with that verification nonsense. Now FFXI work perfectly! :D

I hope that helps those of you who are still having problems like I was. Thanks again!

Re: Help, Character textures are messed up

Hi guys I just recently got a new laptop a Dell Inspiron 1525/1526 and i am having the same problems. I have the same drivers that you guys had and downloaded the drivers that you guys found to work.

However after i dl the drive a unzip window comes up and im not sure what to do from there. I was wondering do you have to download the Winzip program in order for the drive to work? any responses would be much appreciated.

Re: Help, Character textures are messed up

You don't need WinZip for the drivers to work, you just need the to get to the file you need to install. I recommend WinRar. It's free and you can get it here: WinRAR archiver, a powerful tool to process RAR and ZIP files (the first link at the top should give you what you need)

Make sure that when you extract the files, you put them in a place where you know where they are so you can get to them again. I think the automatic place for them to extract to is some temporary folder where you'll never see them again! The easiest thing to do would be to make a new folder on your desktop and put the files in there. That's what I always do. Then just follow the directions above.

        Hope that helps!

You can't open it as is. This is when you go to control panel, device manager, display adapters and double click "Mobile Intel (R) 965 Express Chipset Family". Were there any other files in there? There should be others too, I should think.

That's the one you want. Then browse to the place where you extracted the files and choose the "Graphics" folder. It'll be the only file in there, and that's the one you want to install.

When you do that, you'll need to restart you computer before the new driver will take effect.

That's right. The file is called igdlh.nfi.

haha, Windower is another story if you're using Vista. The drivers won't mess up, but you have to do special things to get it to work right.

No problem! I know how frustrating it is not to be able to play right away like you want because there's one little thing wrong. This took me about six hours of playing around to figure out how to get it right! o_o
