  • Running FFXI on Intel 945

OK, I'm sorry if this is a common question, i did have a look but i can never find a straight answer.

I have a acer 5310 laptop with intel 945 onboard graphics, and i wanna know if its possible to run this game ok?
i was planning on using windower to improve the quality a bit.

I'm just asking if there is anyone here who has it running on a similar system and is it worth me installing and downloading all the updates for it not to work, and use up my download limits.

cheers for any help in advance!

There is a bench mark program for FFXI on the official site.

just a fyi, ffxi is more cpu-intensive than graphics intensive, so awesome graphics with average cpu won't do well. if your graphics card is at least 128MB, focus more on the processor

Re: Running FFXI on Intel 945

Minimum requirements are a Video card with 32mb VRAM. However, FFXI requires a card with Hardware T&L, which the 945 does not support. I wouldn't expect it to work.

I thought I'd seen reports of people using 3D-Analyze to run the game on Intel cards. That was a year or two ago, though.
