Live update of Conquest Data?

Did several google searches which yielded no promsing results, does anyone know if there's a place I can look up conquest data (such as what the conquest map would show me) that's relatively accurate and up-to-date? Does such a site exist?

Highly doubt it, but I'm away from the house right now and I kind of wanted to look some conquest results info up while I'm planning some things.

I've never heard of such a service. However, the thought does interest me.

When the FFXIAH forums get back up (if ever) I'm going to talk with someone on there about setting something like this up. He has a bit more information regarding the inner workings for data slurping (no, he's not part of the FFXIAH project) than I do... I'll see if something like this would even be possible.

At the very least, I should be able to whip up something which is user-contributed (like FFRecipie, if you've ever heard/used their service).

While we are on the subject, a Besieged / Campaign battle status for each server kind of site would be very useful too. Or does it exist already? o.O

Okay, so as suspected, it does not exist, but yes, such a service would be freaking incredible!

I'll have to wait until I'm at my own computer again (and thus, in game) to check up on what I wanted to know, I had hoped I could do it here though. XD

Awhile back, I found a website that kept track of the leave-times of airships and boats....maybe that website has some information for Conquest tally data too. Forgot the name though. :/

Doubtful. Ship time is very easily calculated, once you know the formula. While I don't know it off the top of my head, I'm sure a quick search could tell you what it is. That's why many websites (this one included, if you visit the main page) has such a timer. If you didn't know, this site has a copy of Vana'Navi on the main page, which, among other things (like the current in-game time, day and moon phase) is the airship/ferry and guild schedules.

Yeah, that makes sense. Boat times are consistent while the conquest tally is not.

As I said, I know of nothing, but speaking purely from a development perspective, I don't think Campaign would be very feasible, at least not if you want to track battles. They simply happen too often and happen too quick for any reasonable conservation of bandwidth. I'm not entirely sure if the ownership of the zone is updated weekly with conquest information, and there's no mention of it on the wiki.

Besieged would be an interesting one, since there is no regular update like conquest. Also, the rates of the growth of the attacking beastmen vary depending on a few factors which are also always changing.


I think that, from my perspective anyway, if I were to put something like this together, I would initially set it up as user-submitted conquest information, verified by multiple people from the same server. The entire thing would be based on the trust system, but the effect of a malicious user would be negated by the fact that it would require many people to give the same results. Again, it would be set up much like the guild patten tool at both FFXIAH and FFRecipe.

Beyond that, I've actually started thinking about developing this, and I have a fairly good idea on how it would look. Perhaps even eventually find some way to slurp the data off the server, which would open up the availability for campaign and besieged.

Perhaps I'll start working on a little prototype a little bit later.
