Inexpensive Trial
I personally cant compare it to Wow, seeing as how I've only gotten to lvl 8, I enjoy FFXI more though =p Yes, 1$ for each character, but one character can use every single job, unlike wow.
Yay, Ty for this Eohmer~
Silentsteel - Taru of Awesomeness on Valefor
80 Whm, 86 Drg, 40 Sam, 37 Blm, 31 Smn, & lower as it goes down... I have way too much play time for no levels, lol.

Re: newbie to FFXI
FFXI has a lot more fun endgame stuff. It's not just constant raids. You have a selection of stuff to do (from quite easy to damned impossible)
Getting to 75 really hasn't been easier too, At least in my experence.

Re: newbie to FFXI
FFXI has a lot more story content and "reality" than WoW. You do missions in the game to learn the story, and every single quest in the game has at least some story to it. The NPCs have actual personalities which are thoroughly looked into via missions and quests, and I found it a much deeper world than WoW, where a lot of the jokes were based off of things going on in the media and on the internet.
In other words, if you like story and content but don't mind spending a lot of time getting there, you should like FFXI. The jokes and characters aren't as crude as WoW, but I have found myself nearly falling out of the chair laughing from the escapades of certain NPCs...
*cough*Shantotto*cough*
And as silentsteel brought up, your character can play any of the jobs and be allied with any of the available countries, unlike WoW. There are 6 base jobs you can start out as, and to unlock the rest, you have to complete certain quests.
However, if you have a certain job or role in mind (like mage or melee) the race you choose can affect your...well, effectiveness. Tarutaru, for example, are a very small race that are bred to be mages. They have low HP, high MP, and low defense. They can play melee jobs, and with the right gear they can be just as effective as any other race, however at higher levels their deficiencies become more noticable.
Same with Galka mages. Galka are very muscular with high HP and low MP, and low intelligence and mind (INT and MND affect the strength of your magic, put simply). Once again, they can be mages, but you'll need to get plenty of gear to increase your MP pool so you can be an expendable mage.
And one more thing: If you haven't caught on yet, Mhurron is our resident peanut gallery, so just toss a few coins and move alongLast edited by Lilani; 07-20-2007, 11:12 AM.
