  • Two Questions

Okay, I know there are a few guilds posted here and everything, but it's a little tricky to memorize the entire thing and go from there. So basically what I'm asking is, how to you make the screen smaller without having to exit?

Second question. I'm using a PC and I have a very basic idea of how the controls work (I don't even know how to run). So can someone help with this? And again, an online manual might not help that much if I can't reduce the screen and look at it while I'm playing.

The controls are printed in your manual. Have you read your manual? It also tells you how to change your resolution.

      Read the manual.

Also in the manual, as I said above. Use the Final Fantasy XI Config. Which you have to log out to use.

I'm looking, but I'm not seeing it.. Would it be under basic controls or hidden somewhere else?

                Re: Two Questions

It's accessed via your start menu (may be different on vista, I don't know).

For me, it's Start > Playonline > Final Fantasy XI > Final Fantasy XI Config

                  Re: Two Questions

Well it doesn't look like that worked for bringing up the FFXI Config. But even when I get there what will it bring up?

                    Re: Two Questions

It's explained in your manual. Basically you'll be able to set your resolution, background resolution, mip mapping, bump mapping, etc. You can also edit the registry directly, but I wouldn't suggest it if you're already having problems with this.

                      Re: Two Questions

I wouldn't say I'm having "problems" with this. I just want to know how to change it from full screen. (I assumed I just had to hit a button to do that, but maybe I wrong.)

                        Re: Two Questions

If it's in the manual, what section would it be under?

Edit: Well I managed to find the the FFXI Config in the manual, just need to figure out how to get to it..

                          Re: Two Questions

Yeah, there is no way to change it from Full Screen. That's just how FFXI rolls.

When I click on PlayOnline from the Start it brings up PlayOnline Viewer with members list, guest loggin, join playonline, all that stuff.
