  • Subscription messup?

    Hello, I'm a "returning" player that never really got around to playing this great game along time ago. I recently reactivated my subscription, payed for it and played my WHM up to level 12 from level 8. Now as a new month is here they close my account because it has to be paid for?.. I have to pay full price for playing 3 days of a month? Is that how it really works?

    Also, I heard that if I canceled my subscription they would delete my character 3 months down the line .. How can I cancel my account so they won't do that? I live a place where I can't play the game atall, and I only play it for a week or two.

    It's sort of early in the morning, but thank you for any understanding.

    yes, that's how it really works.

    SE bills on the first of every month. NOT every 30 days.

    So if you activated on the 27th, then you only get to play 4 days before your account is billed again. Thus it NEVER makes sense to reactivate in the middle or end of a month.

    SE will only guarantee that they keep your character around for 3 months after you cancel. In most cases, they've kept characters around for much longer (1 yr+), but you really don't want to run the risk of loosing your character, then reactivate every 3 months.

      Sorry for placing it in the wrong place.

      I guess it's my fault anyways, but that's a really odd way for them to work things out .. Would make more sense if it was up to the costumer to when they would be charged. But I got things sorted out now anyways, thank you.

      I only cancel my content ID, not my PlayOnline ID right?

        Correct. Your PlayOnline ID is free, and thus never needs to be cancelled. To cancel billing all you need to do is cancel the content ID (no need to delete the character either).

          Okay, so basically that means that they didn't charge me when I began playing the game around 4 days ago? And then billed me twice as of now?

            yes. once for the month (4 days) you activated and again for the month to come (4/1 - 4/30).

              if i recall correctly.

              When starting a subscription mid month.

              Lets say, the 20th in a 30 day month.

              You will be billed on the first of the next month.

              For 10 days + 1month.

              Im fairly certain the 10 days would be equivelant to 1/3 of the monthly charge since its only 1/3 of a month.

              I've had this in the past, where i payed £4 + £8, not 2 full months

                The first month of any subscription is free. After that, if your free subscription runs out in the middle of the month, they will pro-rate your bill for that month. After that, you are always billed on (or around) the first (depending on how long your bank takes to process it), for the full amount for a month.

                If you reactivate a subscription in the middle of the month, even if there are only a handful of days until the next billing period, you will still be charged the full monthly price.
