Problem Aquiring Server information

My playonline is fine and everything up until the last part of the ffxi loading screen (just after you go beyond the dont let ffxi mess up your real life warning) it gets to the end of the loading bar where it says aquiring server data and then just stops.

How can i make this stop? or is it the companies fault and will be fixed later?

I was having the same problem earlier today. I wanted to get a couple hours in before I had to go to work. I'd like to hope that this problem will be fixed by the time I get out of work later.

I am having the same problem right now. Been doing it for the past hour or more. So damn annoying. I am just gonna keep trying.

I can't get past Aquiring player data. I have tried restarting my PS2 several times and it always dies there. Attempted to call tech support, but that number is busy, and online help is busy too. Guess I will have to wait.
This really shouldn't be happening this long after an update though.

We understand some players are currently experiencing connectivity issues. Our team of technicians investigated and confirmed that our FINAL FANTASY XI servers are working properly, and our services is not experiencing any technical difficulties at this time.

If you are having connectivity issues at this time, try connecting to FINAL FANTASY XI again at a later time.

I am having exactly the same problem. Absolutely nothing has changed on my computer since I played the game yesterday. I'm sure their servers are fine, but what I think they are forgetting is the fact that there is a lot of people who can't connect to those servers, thats why we keep getting FFXI-3113 error code. The Q&A section troubleshoot suggestion couldn't be any further from helpful. My POL viewer works fine SE, it is acquiring server data that is the problem GET A CLUE SE!!

I've tried to connect over a period of 8 hours, so trying to connect at a later time seems pointless.

we should all spam SE with questions about this....

after some searching, some people found out that if youre connected through a router, you wont get through... dont know why yet, but a lot of people have got it working by bypassing their router... ill give it a shot and report back...

well, i was hoping to come back with some good news... but i guess not, didnt fix the problem for me anyways...

edit4: updating the firmware on my router didnt work either... changing my dynamic ip to static didtn work.

it's frustrating because i just started playing again was getting really into it and now this happens...the gms give me a speach about how its all my fault and then proceed to kick me from my ticket.

i haave not been able to play 48 hours before i made the original post so like 3-4 days.
