I had put the bed in my room and attained enough fame to start the quest...so i went out and bought the Power bow and beetle ring+1 after my moogle had told me i needed them.....so i traded them to him and after about 5 or so days game time i went to him to get the expansion...but my moogle said nothing about the quest and i didnt have the extra slots....i did return to my home town so i have no idea what the problem is...this was the morning of the last conquest results that i gave him the items and returned to him later that same day...was there something else i needed to do? any help would be awesome....

And doesn't the expanded safe take place on Sundays RL during the conquest updates and what not? Meaning, if you did it on Sunday, the safe won't expand till next Sunday?Comment

Yeah, he takes off for a while once you give him the items and returns a few hours later with the upgraded mh. Also, I think Jei is right, the hq beetle ring won't work. Give him the nq versions.

Your moogle can disappear for quite a while - it's one of the very few quests in the game that takes over 24 real life hours to complete. I don't think anyone has ever figured out exactly what determines how long it takes - but has been known to take a few days in some cases.
