The opening movie can be skipped simply by clicking or pressing a button (I forget since the PS2 only has it on the install disc), or you could simply turn it off in the FFXI Config program. If you mean the mandatory story after creating a character, that takes about 3 minutes for any starting city.

Which version are you playing on? If it's the PC version, you can easily turn it off in the FFXI config menu outside the game. If it's not, well I can't help you on that.

Oh yeah, I was wondering about that line. Is he even playing the full game installed from the real discs...?

I've never run the benchmark because I mainly play on PS2, and I knew the computer I got from school was already capable of running the game.

I ran the benchmark just to see what my score would be like. Turns out was a waste of time to even bother downloading and installing the benchmark. Scored just a few points under 6000; it was like 5950 or something. :}


But ya if you're talkin about the opening cinematic where it starts with a little glowing crystal and some dude talking, you can hit any key on your keyboard (don't have PS2/360 version so don't know about that).
