PvP ?

So im considering giving FF XI another try (assuming I can either get my former account restored or a new account with my old key, if i find it)

Before I decide if I want t make my truimph return to the slow grind, I have to ask How is the PvP ?


Also, I know there aren't (to my knowledge) official PvP servers, but I come from Star Wars Galaxies, and though we don't have an official PvP server, it's well known that bloodfin is the "PvP Server". Is there any server like this on FF XI ?

PVP isn't set to any server. PVP is only done by playing Ballista and Brenner. You have to be level 30 to get a Ballista license, but Brenner supposeldy has no level restriction or requirement to be able to start playing. You can't attack other players except in those two games.

as the guy siad there are no PvP specific servers. I'll kinda expand on what he said:

We have two PvP sports: Balistia and Brenner(you can try looking them up for specific rules. I sugest searching for the FFXI wikapedia). Both are pretty fun(I've only played Balista a few times) and you loose no XP and no items for playing. These are just instanced events that can be done as long as you can get players to form 2 teams. Initally they were popular but I think the hype on them has died down somewhat.(so you kinda gotta get some players)

I believe what he wanted was an unofficial server, that is, a server where PVPers tend to gather. I don't know of any, however, sorry >o< I wish PVP was more popular, I'd like to try my hand at it~

Never played pvp myself, but I think you can organize it with a few friends in something with a ridiculous name like Diorahama-Ghelshba or something like that. I think you reserve a time a day or so in advance, and the zone is opened for you guys only?

FFXI really is not made for free PvP...it's more PvE except for those events...I do wish more people would play because I could so have some fun making them eat dirt for points.
