where to buy pickaxes?

hey guys i went to the auction house and i saw the picaxes there, but even when i bidded 25 gil i wasnt able to buy one!!

are they that expensive? thee can i buy cheaper?

and whats the[x] thing next to the items on the bidlist? x=number

The number next to the item indicates the number of items involved in that offer. For instance, Pickaxes [12] would be a single stack of 12 pickaxes. If there's no number or if it's just 1, then it's just a single item.

Note that pickaxes can and do break quite often when used for mining or excavation - don't buy just one or you might end up very unhappy.

There's an NPC in Bastok Mines that sells them. When you first get there, on the left, where many of the buildings are, someone on the second 'floor' of that area in the back of a building is selling them for like 200g each.

Uh... vendors ARE NPCs. The price ranges are listed on that page (price varies based on how much fame you have in that location).

You should be able to accumulate some starter cash just by killing a few monsters and saving the crystals. Get a couple stacks of crystals, sell them on the auction house, and you should have enough to get started with mining (you'll need a few levels anyway to mine safely).

OMG i cant believe this!! when i put stuff on the auction house i dont get the money immediatly!(makes sense BUT) what if i just want to "SELL" stuff..just the plain old selling? where do i sell the crystals!

Just be patient. Crystals usually sell fast. Within a day, sometimes within a few minutes.

are u saying that in this game there is NO way to get instant money by selling ur stuf???..........MAN!!!! what the!!..ok i agree the bidding and all thats fun..but why cant they have some NPCs that buy ur items for a fixed rate(somewhat lower than the original rate)? man.....this sucks..really

Well you can.

Go to any Vendor (NPC) that sells stuff, and usually they have a Buy button as well. When you click the Buy button, you can usually select the stuff out of your inventory to sell to them.

Expect to get MUCH less selling to an NPC than at the action house -- by orders of magnitude.

Crystals sell for 12g each, no matter what kind they are, when sold to an NPC. According to FFXIAH.com for Sylph you can get between 83g and 250g per crystal when sold in stacks on the AH(I excluded dark and light crystals).

The first time I played, I was wary of using the AH. I thought I would get scammed or something. I dont know. But I sold every item I got to the NPC. A few days later when I finally got 700g >,> for that cool weapon I was so happy. And proud of myself.

So to sum it up, it will take you much longer to get what you want if youre impatient.
