Friend List problems

I have been having serious issues with my friend list for about one month. Actually, it's been ever since I bought a second content ID to make my first mule. My problem is that when I make a new friend, they get added to my list, but their online status is never shown. The day I bought that content ID, all of a sudden my friends list went empty, even though I was chatting with a number of them in LS chat.

I tried to get some information at playonline.com, but it didn't help. Their advice was to check my privacy settings. I did, I changed the settings from "Friends Only" to "Everyone." That helped a little bit- I can see 4 out of my 21 friends online now, basically the oldest friends I have. New ones, not a chance. It gets very frustrating to make a new friend, and not be able to see their status. I don't want to have to go through my list every time I play, typing /sea name just to find out if they are on.

Any advice on how to fix this would be appreciated. I will probably have to reinstall, I'm sure. ><

do you happen to have more than one handle? friendlists are attached to the handle of your content id so if you are on one handle, it won't see the status of friends you added on another handle (even though you can see the names).

I only have one handle, as far as I know. Could I have accidentally created one when I bought my mule's content ID? Also, I've only ever used the /befriend command in my main account, never through my mule.

double check your handles then.

the other possibility is that the other party deleted you from their friendlist. that won't show status as well.

This reminds me of my own question. How do you delete friends, some of mine have chaged servers?

you have to do it via POL viewer. i don't think there is a way in-game afaik.

Thanks for the advice. I will have to look into that handle thing.

Although I'm sure some of my friends may have deleted me by now, I have been asking more recent ones if they can see me on thier list. They all can, but I don't see them on mine.
