  • best way for 20-30's to get gil?

Topic says it all.. What is the best way for lvl20-30 players to obtain gil?

I've read that there are jobs in this game, but I dont know anything about them. Are they hard to attain? Where do you go to learn the trades?

I've also heard of item farming, are there any particular items that are good to farm?

thx in advance for your help

With the Economy the way it is you can farm just about anything for gill.

People will probably say Silk Threads, bee Chips... At this lvl not sure.

The Crafts such as Woodworking, Gold Smithing etc can be started at any lvl . Just find the Guild in a City and join.

I do bee chips, and also buy items from shops then resell on the AH's. Its slow gil, but everything in this game is slow. If you have the proper job and know people who are willing, try doing bcnm, some of the 30 cap? Personally I haven't done one, but I've been wanting to.

Youc an also go to Giddeus and do the 50cap Trials and Tribulations. It's all luck so level doesn't matter insanely much. Guess right, no fight, guess wrong, you will be violated by mimics whether you're 5 or 50+.

Although defensive jobs that can sub blackmage for warp will save you exp if you pick the wrong chest. I've gone on WHM, prot 3, blink, stoneskin, aquaveil, stack on the spell interrupt down gear, and warped out safely.

Check the prices of the following low-level craft items:

          Bronze Ingot
          Copper Ingot
          Tsurara
          Sheep Leather

A character with 0 crafting skill can reliably manufacture these products from Guild-purchased and in some cases AH purchased reagents. I made Bronze, Copper, and Sheep Leather for my initial capital. The Sheep Leather ended up being the best because it is used in so many recipes. Mining Zeruhn is also nice. There are a lot of posts in this forum regarding this topic, perhaps a search will produce some more verbose results.

            Fishing.

After you earn back the gil you used for the equipment, it's all Profit. Sometimes fast profit and sometimes slow but it's still profit. It's not fast paced or extremely exciting but it earns gil on a regular basis. Some fish are great to sell on the AH, others to NPCs. It just takes time and patience to reap the rewards in this game.

Eventually you will notice that the items which sell at some premium are the base materials in the auction house in jueno. Bronze ingots , certain lumber, sheep leathers, seeds.

Farm crystal stacks from level 1, and any other drops that stack from the lower level mobs. Zinc ores from worms (arguably the easiest mobs to kill) will sell from 1k to 5k (and thats single drops) depending on how many people are levelling Goldsmithing, or trying to raise Tenshodo fame.

Dont forget about conquest point items if you are a bit short, perhaps they might not be worth much, but if you arent using your points they might get you by in a pinch.

You could also level any other jobs you have through the starting grind, I came out with a good few stacks of crystals and a pile of varying ores after levelling 3 jobs 1-10 just outside Bastok. Sheepskins also sell well.

As you get higher, well, fishing is cheap and cheerful. Cooking can net you a quick profit in lower levels making Selbina butter and fishing bait. If you take up fishing, and can make your own bait from drops your overheads are going to be minimal, especially with (on my server at least) fishing gear being dirt cheap.
