    Re: PC controllers

what kind of adaptor? one specifically for a ps2 controller? Also, by buying the adaptor, that would enable me to use both the keyboard and the buttons and such? Thanks!
I don't really know how to put this, but
I'm kind of a big deal. People know me.

Yeah, a PS2 adapter that goes from PS2 plug to a USB plug. The keyboard already has a USB plug, so no worries there.

        Re: PC controllers

Alright so since I'm pretty PC illiterate, let me get this straight. For the keyboard to work, I plug it in with the attached USB cord into the USB port. But for the entire thing to work (controller & keyboard) I need to buy a PS2 adapter that goes from PS2 plug to a USB plug. Correct? So at best buy that's what I need to ask for? PS2 adapter that goes from PS2 plug to USB plug?

PS Sorry about all these questions...I must sound pretty lame.

I was also wondering about the Rumblepad by Logitech. Would that be better? Thanks.

          Re: PC controllers

I LOVE my wireless Rumblepad. The D-pad works better than the cheaper wired controller.

brb... I'll finish this reply after I'm done eating, lol

Ok... the Netplay Keyboard/controller has 2 wires. The keyboard, which you can DETACH from the body, has a USB wire. The body/controller has a standard PS2 cable, just like a regular Sony PS2 controller. You CAN use one or the other by itself if you wish. But to use BOTH, both cables obviously have to be plugged in to the PS2.

Like I said earlier, you can find a PS2 adapater that changes the plug into a USB so you can also use the controller half on your PC too.

I hope that is mroe clear.

Yeah it is! Thanks a lot. I think I'll get that then. I assume they'll have it at any local electronic stores?

Just out of curiosity, what program is that?

I've been trying to get the button configurations between my 360 and my PC to match up for some time, to no avail. I love the 360 controller, but if the LT and RT won't pull up my macros on the PC version, then it's pretty much useless as far as FFXI goes. T_T

Hacked PC drivers for the XBOX 360 controller they should be better then micro$ofts drivers. (By Hacked I mean they might accually work)

But actually I am quite interested in using a XBOX 360 controller for my PC mostly due to my Logitech Rumble Pad became unusable last week, and I had to switch back to that Concentrated Pure Evil known as the logitech Dual action.

                  http://xbcd360guide.50webs.com/guide.html
And I have no plans of buying the XBOX 360 anytime soon, but there is a lack of high quality pc controllers on the market. So if some of the victims opps testers report getting the XBOX 360 controllers to work properly ill consider buying one.

Yea I use the Logitech Rumble Pad 2, it works tons better than the Logitech D-Pad. Pretty crazy that the 360 Pad can be used with the PC. Although I wouldn't buy one anyways 'cause $80 to standard ones $0<50 just doesn't really sound tempting unless ur gonna get da 360.

What? $80? I got my 360 controller for $32 OEM (They're $40 on ebgames.com right now). Even the wireless controllers only cost $50, and that doesn't matter anyway since they won't work on the PC without the Play & Charge kit, which eliminates the purpose of having the wireless controller. Even if you buy THAT the total is $70.

...maybe if you live in Australia they cost $80.

Also, thanks for pointing me to that site, Thrasher. The XBCD 360 drivers work great, even though the rumble still doesn't work with FFXI, but oh well. At least the Xbox Guide Button lights up now. :D

Did you set it up in the FFXI Config?

                          Start>Programs>PlayOnline>FFXI Config>General Tab>GamePad Settings Button

Make sure you calibrate the Movement, Camera, and Menu in the Directional Control Devices box. When you are done setting it up, USE THE TEST GAMEPAD BUTTON. The Help button might answer some simple questions if you run into any problems.

For 360 controller to work (right for FFXI) on a PC, use this.....
