I will be getting a new computer soon. Can I still install the version I have on the new computer or do I have to get a new one?

As long as you have a dvd rom on your comp and the PC version of FFXI you can. You just use the same copy you have. At the playonline setup it will ask you if you have a POL account click on the icon. Then all you have to do is enter your POL screen name and password. Then you'll be set.
You still have to do all the installation and deal with all the time it takes for the updates to be complete. But you won't have to make a new account or buy new software at least.
If you were playing PS2 or an Xbox you have to buy a PC version of FFXI. But still all you have to do is what I wrote above and you'll be fine. I moved my pol from my main computer to my laptop this way.Comment
