As soon as I log in...the screen turns black

And all I get is my cursor. I find that when I right click my curosr it changes to what looks like a navigation cursor, so i figure after I logo on, my graphics aren't being displayed.

My setup is pretty up to date so I don't see what the problem could be (unless there is something i need to change in config)

AMD 2600+
1.5 gb RAM
geforce 6600 gt (128)

any ideas?

there was a recent problem with windows ffxi users that cause the game to freeze when you try to change characters. they had it patched earlier this week.

graphics tend to be slower to load now, but it should load within 30 seconds. if it did not, the game froze and you need to ctrl+alt+del and restart it.
