  • How does billing work?

Hey there. Yeah, kind of a silly question. I know that players are billed on the first of every month, but I was wondering if players were billed based on PDT or JPN time.

Also, if you join in the middle of the month, do you get billed for the full month, or just the remaining days? I've never been able to figure that one out.

    Thanks in advance.

If you join in the middle of the month, the following middle of the month is prorated. If you just renew in the middle of the month, you get charged for a full month.

So, reactivating a dormant Content ID costs a full month then?

          Dang.

'k, that brings me to my other concern: Do I get billed on JPN time or PDT? I mean, it's June 1st in Japan by now, so one would think that it's billed on their time, but NA could be different, so I'm not all too sure.

It doesn't matter when the billing happens if you're debating when to reactivate. The registration servers are inaccessible when they bill you, because of maintenance. Thus, you can't activate or deactivate Content IDs around that time, about halfway through the last day of the month until about halfway through the first or second day.

JST is 16 hrs ahead of PDT, but the registration server maintanance scheduled for 0:00 JST on 6/1 for JP accts didn't concern NA users according to the official site; instead, maintainance is scheduled at 0:00 PDT for NA accts. it's been the same before, so it's safe to assume that billing systems r separeated on a region by region basis.

having said that, if u attempt to reactivate ur Content ID and associated character(s) today, still 5/31 in PDT, it's likely that u'll be charged for the month of May in full, along w/ another 12.95 for June when the maintaiance happens.
