Well i used to play ffxi all the time when it first came out, but i took a 5 month break and i just started back. Before i left i saved up alot of money like 100k(back then that was alot). Now the prices when through the roof and my gil aint worth as much. any ideas?

well, since inflation, prices of farmable stuff has risen too :p so its still worth some, just not as much
go out and farm silk (used to be like 20k, and now is 50k) its usually what i do when im bored

The inflation is over, the price of Haurby and Scorp H was around 13 mil at peak in last christmas. Now its 6-7 mil, back to normal.--------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's probably a good idea if you think you're going to stop playing for awhile and start again much later to save items rather than gil. Like, say, erase scrolls, peacock charms, and other pricey BCNM rewards. That way when you come back you can easily cash in and be somewhat better off with the current state of the economy, whatever it happens to be.

It's not really a problem as long as your income also inflated.
Most BCNMs,farming items, etc have inflated so no one cares 10k or 100k, because you can get it easily.
Even telewhores make decent money, if anyone still does it anymore haha.

It is true that inflation makes farming worthwile, but i dont think that the extra gil made from farming equals the proce increase.But since I heard about this money train, I am exited to explore more about it. I think the people that made a quick mil during this inflation and saved their gil and waited for the prices to go down will benefit from this the most. When I first heard that people were millionairs I was shocked because the most gil i have ever had was 200k. It took me along time get that. Now i realize that inorder to keep up with people my lvl i need to get to work. LvL 42Thf/21NinThiefs rule the planet!Comment
