I used to play Final Fantasy XI but then stopped. I now want to replay, and I do not know which version to get. I already have the PS2 but have a laptop ready to play with a nice graphics card. i would only have to pay a simple amount of euros... I bet I this i s a very common question...

Re: PS2 or Computer?
Well, you'd get nicer graphics with the laptop, but you'd possibly be giving up the controller, unless you bought one for the pc. If you did get a controller for the laptop it would probably be pretty nice. Ease of macros with the keyboard, easy of movement with the controller, plus better graphics. Keep in mind I'm biased though since I play on PC.I RNG 75 I WAR 37 I NIN 38 I SAM 50 I Woodworking 92+2

Re: PS2 or Computer?
Well, you can do a lot of other cool stuff with PC... with PS2 you can just play. Depends on what speakers you have for your Pc.. and stuff.. where everywhere you want to play (with laptop you can go everywhere) and stuff. Thing is, if you get the PC version, you can log in at either PS2 or PC anytime you want, without extra costs, as you pay only 1 account a month. :-)http://www.ffxiah.com/player.php?id=953347

Re: PS2 or Computer?
So I'd get me the PC version anyway.... You can always still play on PS2 when you feel like it!

You can use a usb keyboard with the ps2. For controllers for your pc, Radio Shack sells usb connections so you can use your actual ps2 controller. If you want something different, ask TheGrandMom. She has a Logitech keyboard/controller that she absolutely loves. (Plus I think she either has stock in Logitech or gets kickbacks for her referrals )
Serryl, she may not have a 360, and thats 400 dollars she'd have to plop down when she already has a capable ps2 and pc that she can already play it on.I RNG 75 I WAR 37 I NIN 38 I SAM 50 I Woodworking 92+2

Re: PS2 or Computer?
You could always use a 360 controller.
You'd have to buy the controller...
And the charge pack.
But, the charge pack plugs in via USB...then to the controller.

Leprechaun33, you use the number pad on a full size keyboard. The arrow keys adjust your camera. I'm not sure exactly what you'd use on a laptop keyboard. I know Jei plays some on a laptop. He should know.I RNG 75 I WAR 37 I NIN 38 I SAM 50 I Woodworking 92+2

Re: PS2 or Computer?
I'd go for the PC, easier to download updates, if you have a reasonable set up you don't get lagg in some areas you do on a PS2. Hardrive for PC is more stable and I much prefer using a keyboard and mouse than a controller, Macros are so easy especially as I'm used to this setup with other games and of course work using Archicad where shortcuts are just a quick 1, 2 away.

Re: PS2 or Computer?
I am okay, I think I might just by the usb some where... I have no radio shacks or w/e you call it in London... Oh well I will find one... Sice the PS3 is going to be $600-$500 USD, I have to save my money... sigh, I know I have a full wireless keyboard some where....

Re: PS2 or Computer?
If you can play on the PC, go for PC. The biggest reason is because it's a lot easier to find the game for PC now. I don't know of anywhere in my area that even sells the original PS2 game and the CoP expansion for PS2 anymore. Overall, I consider the PC version to be a lot nicer playing experience in terms of screen resolution, lower lag (hardware based), and a lot quicker on the update front.
To move on PC I believe you can use the Num Pad, but I just use "Compact Mode" which lets me use A, S, D, & W for movement (the standard FPS movement keys). You can also use your mouse to move by clicking and holding, but control is horrible that way.

Re: PS2 or Computer?
I use the number pad but nly because my archicad shortcuts I have been using for may years use combination of this and other end, so my fingers are prety fast all over the keyboard
