i've found an oddity in the auction house that i can't understand ... there are a number of items in the AH, often most of the items in AH, that i can't bid on. it's almost always the items i want, but i am unable to bid on them; the bid button is faded out and it does nothing but beep at me when i press it. i meet the item's requirements to wear/use it, i have more than enough gil to bid on it, i have space in my inventory to put it, and i'm viewing the item in a refreshed window - that is, i completely quit viewing the AH, then reload it back to the item list. even after all that, i still can't bid on the item. what gives?

double check to make sure that item is actually in stock @ the AH. What you describe sounds like an out of stock item.

Does the item have a number next to it? If not then nobody's selling it. Items that have been sold on the AH still appear in the list so you can check the description and the purchase history, even if none of that item are up for sale.Comment

How the AH works is that people must put up an item for sale. You guess the value of the item by looking at the Price History. There it will tell you for what amount others have sold the same item. Then if there are any in stock you will see a number after the item telling you how many are up on the ah. Then using the Price History as a guide, you can bid on an item and hopefully get it. though ... for non-stack items like weapons and armor, if there are at least one of them in the AH, then would it specifically be marked as at least one is available? unless my brain is in backwards, i remember buying armor pieces from the Windurst AH that wasn't marked as one was in stock, but i had been able to bid on it and get it before.Comment

There aren't any of the item for sale unless that far right number is there. Same goes for armor or whatever. Now, for npc vendors, unless the name is grayed out, then they have that item available and the number to the far right is the price.I RNG 75 I WAR 37 I NIN 38 I SAM 50 I Woodworking 92+2
