Anyways, this game wasn't designed to include PKing. Most people like it that way. Just as in WoW and Lineage, PKing tends to bring the sorts of people that have the e-Penis problem. They go and they'll gank somebody, then they'll brag about it and taunt that person almost every time they see them. While FFXI does have some people with those types of attitudes, it's far less common, because of the abscense of PKing.

Um...dude, you're coming onto a forum, and trying to get people to tell you, "HEY, that's a good idea, we should all go petition SE right now and have PKing put into the game." You're trying to make an unresisted argument. But the thing about this debate, is most people DON'T share your opinion.

You'll find the vast majority of people are against PKing. Many have come from other games where that is allowed, and have hated it.

We're not impossible, we just disagree. To reverse the question, why is it so odd to you that an MMO that's whole focus is cooperation would not include PK?

Serryl, I can't speak for everyone, but it seems a lot of us lump PVP, PK, and even MPK into a similar category. You obviously count them seperately. It's just a clash of thinking and playstyle. Don't take it personally.

Yeah, our ePenis stuff is only with people comparing Gear/Time spent @ 75, etc... FFXI has quite a few people with that attitude Rodin, more than your post suggests.

Well, that an HNM drama aside. We don't have the PVPers like WoW does. I look at my brother when he plays WoW, and people have single digit IQs. My friend who I graduated high school with plays that game. I've been trying to get him to play FFXI, but he likes how WoW doesn't take up too much time with leveling. Oddly, he's the only person that I respect.

Go to the WoW official forums. Look at how many posts there are of. "XXXX killed, me, and he gloated about it. Now I'm pissed off and making a post here." There's so much more e-Peen on WoW than there is on FFXI. It's almost not even comparable.

No one is calling you an idiot, they are calling you out on changing your stance here, which it is quite obvious that you did. If anyone's being called an idiot it would be us, seriously... you wrote the post in a way that shows that you're interested in PKing and kept arguing in favor of bringing PK into FFXI.

If you didn't want it... would you really do that?

Ok Serryl, what kind of PK system would you like to see in this game, give us your view. Would you like a system as in Eve-Online, World of Warcraft or maybe Diablo II?

The PvP / PK system in WoW has a reason, 2 sides fighting against each other. You can't attack a person on your own side unless both aggrees to do a Duel.

Eve-Online's system is based on the option to become a space pirate, attacking other players will make you wanted with a bounty on your head, even NPCs will attack you.

Diablo II had a little rushed PvP / PK system IMO. Get to LV 10, then you can ask another player if he wants to fight you. The annoying part of the system is the spam of challenges a single person can send to you.

What would you like to see in FFXI?

I think it would be cool to have something like an Arena.
Fighting amongst YOUR level only...
Not "jacking" the losers gold...
But, rather receiving a grant from the "Arena NPC-dude-a-majigger".
Loser wouldn't gain any XP...But, would, of course, keep all Skill gains they earned during the battle.

A general PK type thing would be cool..
With the agreement of both players...Or both parties...
Or...even both groups of parties(forgot the term ^.^;

...
Especially since (and, yes. I knew this all along...no one had to point it out 165564184 times to make a point) this is a co-op type game...fighting different parties or groups of PTs would be a great idea...
No item ransacking...or Gil jacking, though...Of course...
