Like...Designated PK areas...
PK Caps...Meaning whoever you're attacking must be within a certain level range of yourself...
Etc. Etc.

Areas: We got 3 areas for the Balista, public, and 2 areas for special Balista and Brenner, invitations needed.

Caps: Each Balista and Brenner fight have a LV cap so a LV1 can't join. The lowest LV cap is 30

why? it's not as far fetched as you suggesting that there should be PKing in FFXI (or any MMORPG for that matter).

I still don't get why everyone thinks PVP is the greatest thing since sliced bread for MMORPGs. So you mash macros in an attempt to kill each other. Is this supposed to require skill? Hello! you're mashing macros for crying out loud! congratulations! you can hit CTRL+1, CTRL+2 better than anyone else on the block. whoopee-do!

let me ask you something, why do YOU want to PK? why do YOU even think it is necessary? do you somehow feel incomplete by not being able to swing your mighty <insert 733t item here> and pwn the noobs that come your way?

There have been times when I've wished I could PK people. Not often though, overall I agree with the populace. PKing just doesn't fit into the world of Vana'diel... though THF should be able to rob people of a % of their gil on hand.

I think many of us who play FFXI think PK is bad and wouldn't enjoy the game as much if it was incorporated. Hell, I was thinking of quitting when first Ballista was announced (without knowing any of the details).

I believe this thread is getting to the point where we'll have to agree to disagree before this thread turns into FPS/PK/PVP vs. the rest... ;;

You're right. I should have used a sushi restaurant as the example instead.

My point is, the complete lack of PK is one of the reasons a lot of the people who play FFXI do so. If SE added PK, they would lose a large portion of their player base. I doubt they would gain enough players who've wanted PK to make up the difference. It wouldn't make sense from a business standpoint, if nothing else.

edit: damn it you beat me to it. anyhow, he doesnt know what he's talking about. its one of those people that want to argue a point but when they get any counter arguements they flee the scene saying they never said anything. pointless.

The game has enough content to keep players enjoyed, so we don't need the nOOb slaughter feast to be occupied.

We're still waiting for "The Pit" and "Colluseum" to open in Aht Urhgan. Currently, we know nothing about them, so they might be a PvE and a PvP arena, who knows.
