    Chocobo Training

    Just wondering how exactly I can ride a Chocobo.

    What do I need?...
    And, how do I use them to mount a Chocobo...?

    Any other general information I need on Chocobos would be great, too.

    You go to the chocobo stables and pay a fee and get on one or go to the crags. I think you have to be level 18 to get one at crags and 15 at any nation.

    You need to do the chocobo quest. Did you? It starts at the upper jeuno chocobo stables. One guy that's standing by a choco. You have to give the choco 4 gyshal greens, 1 an hour. Then you can ride chocos and you get your license.

    To mount a choco, you dont need anything but that license. Just head to the crags/nations and talk to npc by it. Btw, you dismount by typing /dismount.

      It's 20 at the crags, 15 from cities. If you are <15 when you get a bird, the riding times is reduced. 15 minutes I think.

      Oh, and you have to be level 20 to do the Chocobo's Wounds quest (for licence).

        It's not Gysahl Greens, it's the medicinal version of them that are listed under Other Items -> Misc at the auction house.

        Once you dismount from a chocobo, you can't get back on until you get back to a chocobo stable and pay the rental fee again.

          Another thing.

          Can anyone explain the Chocobo License Quest for me?
          My home city is Sandy.

          I'm only Lv 18 right now...
          But, I want to be prepared.

            Its done in Upper Jeuno at the chocobo stables there.
            You talk to Brutus and you get a little cutscene or something. Then you give the Gausebit grass to the chocobo. You can only trade one per ingame day. So if you start at the beginning of an ingame day, then you have to wait nearly an hour to give the second. If you can time it so that you give one at around 2300, then you won't have to wait quite so long, but it still takes a while. I also don't think it has to be done in sequential days, but don't quote me on that. Anyway, you give four of the Gausebit grass to the chocobo, one at a time, four times. Then when all is said and done you get the key item Chocobo License.

            Also there is somewhat a continuation to this quest with the BST quest later on. Just an fyi.
