Re: How to politely decline a party invite?

As a rdm, my refusal to party is often the only thing stopping 5 other people from getting experience, so they can get pretty irate about it. I'm almost always anon because depending on the time of day I get flooded with invites anyway. I'd almost rather have the invite rate of a DD. One time I was anon with a bazaar up in Windurst Waters, following an NPC around, obviously afk, and someone came up and checked me, deduced from my equipment I was a rdm of the appropriate level range (no AF at the time) and asked me to party anyway.

LOL Ya, almost. I don't often play my 2 melee characters because it gets frustrating. If I do get a hankering to do it, after about a week at most I'm ready to go do another job.

Re: How to politely decline a party invite?

Well it's kinda complex. With kids I have to reserve time in advance with my wife or a grandparent or something if I want 3-4 hours of uninterrupted time that I can dedicate to a party. So I run around crafting or fishing or soloing the hardest stuff I can - things I can take an afk from at a moment's notice without pissing people off. Most of the time I really don't want the invite, so one or two a week would be fine with me.

Then again if I was a DD or some job that isn't in high demand, not only would my options for solo activities be more limited, but there's no guarantee that I would even get that invite during the time I had set aside to party.

I think what Gawaine means is this:

If the only kinds of players who play this game are people like yourself, than what do you think will happen to this game? You will only find melee who can TP burn to play this game.

So when you want to do Dynamis and can't find a single mage... what then?

I hope SE nerfs it so no "burn" PTs can ever get more than 5k an hour of exp. Then you can judge for yourself if you really having fun in this game in the first place.
