Very useful tool. I only use Windower for IME. I configured it so fullscreen is on and all other plugins are turned off, so it is just like FFXI w/out Windower + IME. If that's considered "cheating", then everyone using the Japanese client is cheating. This is great for me because I am learning Japanese and being able to communicate with it is very nice.

If SE enabled IME in FFXI NA client, I'd ditch Windower in a heartbeat. I still don't understand why they won't allow IME in at least the PC version since IME is done through the Windows OS (hence the copyright problems are non-existant on the PC version). SE wants to make this game a good community game between countries, yet they don't allow you to type in Japanese. Sure, the translator works, but it only takes you so far...

whenever i type with IME, I do get the green text however, I cannot convert what I type in romaji to hiragana, katakana, or kanji when I hit the space bar.

I have IME 0.3 and I set the windows' setting for the non-unicode to Japanese already.

any ideas?

its type in green, hit space does nothing but actually put spaces between my green text, enter finalizes, enter again enters.

is it the same when you type in notepad or browser? You'll get an underline instead of green.

Make sure you hit ALT SPACE to turn your language settings to Japanese (only do this if it isn't already, aka if the first box says "Off", hit this combo to turn it "On")

If the first box says "On", then hit ALT ~ to turn the 2nd boxes A to あ and thus be able to type in Japanese.

Thank you Susurrus and Jei, that did the trick. Though Alt ` is mightly close to Alt Tab ><
