How do you do it!

Guys, i dont know if its just me, but i'm level 32 and i have a rediculously hard time making money. I'd like to try crafting and other things but i find it extremely hard because i'm always broke. Does any one know the best way...or fastest way to make some dough? I see other people running around with hundreds of thousands..and i have a hard time keeping 10k on me. Can poeple give me some advice?

How do you do it!

I think i'm doing something wrong. I look and see all of the level 75 people, and all of the good armor and stuff that they hvae, and i think...wow, how the hell do they do that? I can't even get to level 35 with my thief, let alone 75. I have a huge problem earning xp, but an even larger problem making guild. This is for those pro's out there, who have more then one job higher then 32, how can i make money? Whats the best way to do it?

Go to the AH. Find things that sell for a lot (preferrably crafting materials.) Learn where they come from. Go get them. It's really as simple as that. It can be either farming, mining, harvesting, chocobo digging, gardening, logging, BCNM, crafting, NM camping...there's LOTS of ways.

You can always fish like I do. Just fish at a 1 of the 3 cities, and there should be a certain spot that only gives you moat caprs. On my server, a stack goes for around 15k. Moreover, fishing is probably one of the only crafts that isn't incredibly money-intensive.

best way to earn a lot in the shortest time = you need luck and with luck you can get like more then 10M with one kill or bcnm or nm camping.
But i dont have this luck so i dont camp nm much.
i have 2 lv75 job at least 5 above 37 my gil at first come form hard and long time farming of items like robot shard, silk, crystal cluster etc. And nowadays my gil come from investment of item. Buy at low price and when the price go up and most probably it wount go up anymore in 6month or so and i sell it off.

Farm - Silk thread is currently about 80k a stack (and rising) and you can get it from mobs as low as level 5. Beehive Chips are around 25k a stack. Have a look at AH prices on your server, see what sells high that's a common drop.

If you want to take up crafting try something like cooking. The profit may not be as high as other crafts but its alot cheaper to get started in, you can level with a profit most of the time since ingredients are so cheap.

Time and dedication for the most part. Then there are ppl who cheat and buy gil, never being able to get the joy of purchasing the first haubergeon on their own.

Just don't resort to gilbuying because on the long-run, ur hurting urself as well as the general public.

Sorry about making the two threads...So the best way to do it would be to go to the auction house and look for common items that i pick up and see how much they sell for?

For the most party crafting is a gil-sink until much higher levels. However there ways to make a profit off your crafting.

Cooking for example. If you're high enough to make a number of the more popular baits, you can make a fair amount of gil every Full Moon. I used to sell about 30 stacks of insect paste every Full Moon. It would all sell out before I could get back my MH house to make more. Back when I did this, it was 2k a stack and cost me about 500g to make. (2k * 30 = 60k)

Desynthing can turn a pretty penny as well. I used to desynth for Cotton Thread. Each stack sold anywhere from 20-25k. And I could HQ it a lot with only a Lv.20 Clothcraft skill.

There are also a number of things that are "easily" obtained that sell for decent gil. Beehive chips is one of them. They make Beeswax that's used in a number of synths. Silent Oils to be exact. And at a certain point, everybody and their Moogle ALWAYS carries Silent oils and Prism Powders! So look for those items.

Ok, so beehive chips are pretty good. Everyone talks about HQ items...if i'm not mistaken those HQ items are the "+1" items?

+1 would be HQ gear that is correct, although HQ on some crafts results in more of an item not a stronger item but that's mainly (if not always) for Consummables items High Quality Ninja tools are 66 or 99 of them of one synth instead of 33 but HQ Gear is usually the +1 (although i've heard about +2 gear as well)

You said you have THF at 30? Go to North Gustaberg to the hill where Stinging Sophie pops. Just run up and down that same tier killing all the bees for the drops. You should be able to make about 3 stacks of beehive chips an hour. (Plus maybe a stack of honey and insect wings an hour). If you happen to see Stinging Sophie, kill her and hopefully get the beestinger which sells for about 20k. GL with whatever you decide.

Are you sure that it will work? I tried killing bee's for a while and they did not drop any beehive chips. Do I have to switch jobs? Or will my theif be just as effective if not more effective?

well i know that the drop rates differ, try in giddeous or even the mea crag zone (sorry cant recall actual name of zone ><) where you can also farm silk from crawlers, as well as the 2nd tear yagudo the drop necklaces and sivler coins. Take lots of wind crystals out with you cause the necklaces will desynth into grass thread. You will break a few here and there, but it will increase your clothcraft and you will actually make a lot of gil in that zone. Beehive chips, silk thread, and yag necklaces. I could average about 100k (before these outragous prices) in about 2 to 3 hours depending on silk drops.
