ffxi program help needed

ok my computer has problem last time.
therefore it was send for repair and now it is back.
problem is the repair computer person told me that he need to format my window or computer drive or registery.
I realise that all my files , example the whole 5.5G+ ffxi files are still at the ffxi folder. Therefore i was thinking if anyone know anyway that i can get my ffxi to work without having to reinstall and repatch the whole ffxi from ground again as my whole ffxi from last month is still there. Just that it is not working when i click the pol icon inside the ffxi folder.
My guess is the computer guy reformat my register or windows etc so ffxi is not working due to ffxi game file register is not inside my computer register and giving this error.

Anyone know anyway short cut out to get it to work fast?

yes, install the game like normal in a different directory (POL, FFXI, expansions). Then copy all the files from your old directory over the new one you just installed. You may get an error about the files when you start FFXI, but hit the retry button and it will check the files. Don't worry, this is a relatively short process and once it's done, you can continue playing like normal.

Yeah, or same thing but allows you keep the directory the same still just rename the Folder belonging to the FFXI & POL to something add a 2, "old", or some other tag then install like normal and just copy what in the 2, "old", or whatever tag over the new install folder.

Same as what neighbourtaru said but will at least keeps the directory the same if that is something you want it to do.

do i have to copy 5G+ of files as in ALL of them orz
5G of files may take sometimes too lol
oh shit 1 more thing is i had use english only last time to make my jp ffxi to some english story inside and have not reverse the files back yet and when i try to do it, english only give me an error while trying to open the program ....

Yes. It's not that slow, maybe a couple of minutes

oh shit 1 more thing is i had use english only last time to make my jp ffxi to some english story inside and have not reverse the files back yet and when i try to do it, english only give me an error while trying to open the program ....

orz its not working for some reason.
what i did was i reverse the english onry to the normal and then copy my old ffxi files over to the new install one.
but when i click pol it show u the pol short screen and before the press any key word appear or when you hit any key it just go poof and come out to desk top screen ....

but come another problem orz

after i patch up using my old ffxi files, and i try to go into game
at the opening movie screen place, this error came out. error1.jpg is the error here.

ok then i try to go ffxiconfig to bypass the ffxi opening movie and this is what i saw ... error2.jpg is the error

is there anyway to solve it ?

i cant read japanese but i see the words "Hardware TNL".. that might have something to do you with your video card. I know theres this program you can download to get around that, its some emulator thing but i dont remember where it is or what its called, maby someone else knows? it has an option called Emulate TNL caps and its made for video cards that dont have certain things that ffxi needs too run. used it to play on my moms PC while mine was down

not sure it if work as i had uninstall the whole ffxi, pol or deleted it and reinstalling it now.
will try if i still get the same problem again. thanks again for the effort and it seem that others with samilar problem got it to work from the link u post.

it work and is cool for people that has lousy graphic card like me now lol although i experience some funny graphic problem ingame.

Funny graphic problems ingame can't be helped. Basically that emulator is either substituing a command for one that a lousy graphic card can handle or just inhibits that command from going to the graphics card causing deadzones.

In effect the person that made the emulator tricked the check procesess into thinking the system can handle it then and SendMessages are passed that are known to not work with the lousy cards are killed and replaced by another process to do instead. Being that it is texture and lighting that's this is being done too you can expect the pools of lights to do funny things as well as textures when not in their normal state to have strange results (objects in the distance are mipmapped? so they could demonstrate funny results).

i still think is worth it to try and use it.
maybe a mod should sticky this thread up and label it as ways to play ffxi even with a lousy graphic card. it may attract people with lousy graphic card to buy and play ffxi
