I am not sure if there is already a thread like this, but here goes.

How do you go about Marriage in FF?

Level and Mmoneywise. Even more so... how in Vana'diel do you go about getting a <Marrige> <license>

    {hehe auto-translate fun}

Anyone know? If you can lend me a paw eh?

      Re: Marriage

Well, marriage on FF can be done in 3 ways..
-Friends in game marrying for fun
-Marriage with your real life partner
-Marriage with your online partner o.o

Me and my real life boyfriend applied for wedding multiple times.. I would never marry on the last method though.. or have an online partner at all. For fun, yes.

To marry, you must have some spare money left (200k+ should do for a small wedding :3), level 20 at the least, and rank2 or 3 depending on location. Then in POL, at the FFXI title screen, go to Compendium.. there you can apply .

                  Re: Marriage

No.. "pld_hoe".. Marriage is only for the people who find it funny to do, or just like to RP it. The wedding itself is very big and made very realistic. I found it pretty fun to see it. ^^ Some people see it as part of the game.. if you're not interested in it, don't do it.
The only changes that marriage will affect on your overal gameplay:
-The bride is able to obtain Wedding Dress set, which is Lv20, Rare/Ex, NOT opaline, and no special stats. (Cost: 50,000 gil)
-Both bride and broom are able to obtain a Wedding Ring, which displays either the partners initials or full name, depending on choice made at application. (Cost: Free)

                    Re: Marriage

The Wedding Dress does have some stats, mostly elemental resistances. The entire Wedding Dress set costs 80k, and it looks like you forgot to also mention that when submiting the marriage request in the POL system you have to have a 3rd party do it. The bride and the groom can not personally submit the marriage request and there is no such thing as divorce in this game either.

To add also, the marraige requests binds by POL account. So when 1 of your characters marry none of the other characters you create can. Marriage in FFXI is not exactly like the ones you'd find in EQ and such, the Marriage system was designed with the intent of players wanting to let others in game know that the two are basically together. However it doesn't prevent you from using the marriage system how you wish too, marriage are carried out with a party of players you can invite to witness the marriage and the person conducting the ceremonies are GMs.

                      Re: Marriage

The woman gets total control of remodeling your moghouse and gets 99% of all your gil (on every sell 99% is sent to her deliv. box.). On the brighter side she gets automatic 100 cooking skill and is required to make whatever you want or GM's can ban her. After an ingame year of marriage you get an npc kid that MUST be checked routinely (like gardening) or it may die and you are put in GM jail for negligence and child abuse. Oh, the man now also gets equips: torn up jeans and a white "wifebeater" shirt (I hope that word isnt offensive, I dont know what else they would be called, been calling them that all my life). If she complains of domestic violence then GM's show up and put a fuzzy dot over your face and take you to GM jail.
                      /endsarcasm
Nope, only real point is just to have fun with it, and if you are in a relationship w/ someone else in the game, to show it off. (I'd get in trouble if I ever got married for not wearing ring, since it doesnt have +r. acc.)
