How do I know which server that I am on?

Itll say when you first enter the server.. If you miss that, I think you type /time or /server. I may be wrong. I cant remember.

when you 1st log on, in pruple print, a >> Welcome to <server>! << will pop up. This will sya this everytime you log on. If you want to go to a new server, you have to delete your 1st character 1st then remake one. You can either get a world pass or keep making a new charatcer until you get on the server you want.

you can't change servers once you create your character. if you want a new server, either 1) delete all your characters and try again (it should randomly assign you to a server based on load) or 2) get a WP and create a new character with that.

What berzerk stated is one way of doing it, as long as you haven't progressed your character to an extent that you wish to keep that that'll work fine. Just make sure that you have 0 characters in existence when you do that. It'll randomly pick a server (ofcourse it still uses network stability to a degree when doing this, so a server that you want you likely won't get if it's stability ranking is very poor for you).

The other option is to wait till SE does a "World Shift". This only works for servers they select and the choice of were you go is again to a select group of servers which will also be assigned at random. The world shift allows you to maintain the level and all items you currently posses on you and in mog house.

If you are trying to get to a server that your friend is on I would suggest them getting you a world pass. They could even go for the gold worldpass and then you and your friend gets bonuses after certain amount of time passes, you get them when you and your friend that ordered the gold worldpass are in a party and talk to a specific NPC. So far the rewards are awarded 1st day for the invited, 40 days for another gift for inviter and invitee, 100 days for another gift for invitor and invitee, and then there is one after 365 days but what it is still seems to remain unknown since that program hasn't been in existence that long yet.

A quick question about "option 1". How does the "1$ extra per character" work, will i have to pay 1$ extra for every character that i've ever created, even if they no longer exist, or just those that i save?

I don't think that will work since he already created a character with his POL ID.
