That's over and done with. there was no shutdown of areas other than those 3 and they have long been back online.

PlayOnline Login Difficulties due to POL-1160

Following the update of the PlayOnline Viewer which occured on Jul.19, we have determined that a POL-1160 error may be displayed when PlayOnline or FINAL FANTASY XI checks for the current version.

If you recieve such an error, please wait awhile and try again. If the issue does not resolve itself, please try reconnecting, rebooting all network related devices and try logging in.

We are still continuing our investigation into the matter and hope to bring a quick resolution to this issue.

ok if the problem is my side, why is it happening to a good chunk of the fan base. if it is me, how am i able to load other online games, an go on the web with no problems. an why are most of the errors the same exact thing. 1160 has the same message as 4001 an so on.

seriously we are closing in on the 5th straight day, were we are unable to log on an play. i for one could care less about balista, or a npc forgetting to say thread. i want to log in. i want my SP to log in.
