if someone was to get a copy of the 1000ish files for the patch and put them all into the correct spots and overlapped current ones. would it then accept them so you dont have to download them and only have the pol viewer install them? or would this not work?

Re: could this work for the update?
well seeing how we can back up FFXI by copying the entire folder, i think that will work. especialyl if you have multiple FFXI installed on multiple PCs only 1 will need the updateThere are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot,
but there are others who with the help of their art and their intelligence
transform a yellow spot into the sun.

the way i do is copy everything onto my external hard drive heh. for updates it will be tough. you can probably use window's search and search for only new files perhaps.There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot,

Re: could this work for the update?
yeah :O that would work? but of course you need a trusted person and a way to get each into right file. unless its like 1-100.dat goes in file A while others go in file B

It does not work. I've tired it before with formatting my computer... ;-;
You can try messing around with the patch.ver file though I managed to have 2 different installs of POL/FFXI (JP/NA) using the same files but different patch.ver files.
