Winamp Hotkeys

For some reason, Winamp Global Hotkeys don't work for me while I'm playing FFXI, or any other fullscreen game for that matter.

Does anyone know how to get this to work? I have a friend who's able to use them, and multiple people have told me that they can use them while playing FFXI. Any special settings or plugins that I need, or are there any other media players you could recommend that I can use hotkeys with while in FFXI?

I've looked long and hard for a way to enable Hotkeys and the only way I've found is through Windower's WinampPlugin that allows you to bind keys to Winamp Commands (I use F5-F8 for controlling Winamp). It works perfectly, but, of course, if you're anti-windower, there isn't much you can do.

i use sneakyamp, you can set up any text string that will control winamp

e.g. /winamp next[enter]
will go to the next song. thats the default, you could change it to /wamp or whatever
