I have a crazy idea, SE should undersell the gil sellers then eventualy there will be no reason for gil sellers to sell gil so they will shutdown . then they can use the extra income to make some uber updates and ect.

Gil purchasing is lazy. There's no excuse around it. "I have a life.", "I don't have time to farm.", "I wanna hit 75 first". It's an MMORPG and like a lover, you must commit a bit. Not as much as a lover, but just spend like...2 hrs every day killing crawlers or something. That's just it. Spend 2 hrs a day of your free time farming. It'll add up eventually. Buying gil is taking the easy way out. I forget who said it but "There is no shortcuts in life and cheat codes are disabled."

SoE selling the in game currency has not stopped IGE and the other sites from selling EQ2 currency. I believe SoE just started that so they got the $$ instead of a company not affiliated with them. So as you can see the company producing the game can sell the currency but it does not stop the 3rd party currency sellers to go away.

atleast when im lvl 75 i know i did it on my own and that is worth all the gil in the game.

The biggest problem with this game is, it revolves wayyyyy too much on gil. Not enough Rare/EX items that are worth the time and the effort to get. Even AF's are being banned useless now. Ask a sam, if they would rather wear their AF body or a Haubergeon. And they'll tell you, it's the Haubergeon. Ask a NIN, AF boots or Fuma Kya's or Lizzies. How about Cursed items?? You still need to buy em. Even though the un-cursers are rare/ex, you still need the cursed item to get the actual armor. Which in turn, you still need gil to get that. Gil gil gil gil gil gil gil gil. All about gil. Now you see why people are driven to such lengths just to obtain funds just so that they can keep up with the community??

We all know this. Granted, some have more free time than others. If everyone can do what everyone here preaches, then we'd all be high levels, be in the same plane, and not have competition. But we don't. We're not. Your 2 hours may not be the same for another. That's the reason why this type of stuff exists. Until SE breaks the community by introducing weapons and equipments that are Rare/EX's or even just EX's that's better than the ones we have now, we'll always see this problem.

P.S. God this has been beaten to a pulp, can we just give it a rest now. IT's there, all we can do is deal with it. Also, Peorth, the part where you said

, um, no. If the game gets to you, drop it. That's not the intention of the game, and I hope people don't think this game is like that. Cause it shouldn't be.

Yes, SE did well already by rare/exing a few very pricey items, but imo it should be the same all over the place. And of course, anything spawning at a rate higher then 1 hour is just stupid considering how many people are on the server -_-

I'm against buying gil myself, I'd never do it. I don't mind people buying a bit of gil here and there, but if they buy heaps and brag about their equipment that annoys me.

It's the gil farmers that annoy, even though I know that without the gil buyers there wouldn't be any farmers. :/
