I don't know if anyone else has asked this question but I'm very confused about the job system. So when I start out in the game (im going to create an elvaan) I get to choose what class I want to be? So I can choose to be a warrior and then when I turn lvl 18 I get to choose a sub job? But then I thought it said somewhere that I could be a samurai or something from the start. Well sorry if this isnt coming out well at all so I'll try to say it again. When I start off will I be able to choose my main job to be a samurai or will I have to wait till a certain level to do that?

        From what I've gathered...

Sora89, I haven't played this game yet, but I've learned much from this awesome site, so I'll try to answer your question.

Firstly, when you begin the game, you do not have the ability to equip a sub job. That doesn't mean that you can't switch between jobs, though. It just means that you can only use abilities from one job at a time.

Also, you won't lose any experience you gained from a previous job if you switch. Example:

You decide to be a White Mage. After about level 4, you realise you'd rather be a Warrior. After a few levels in warrior, if you switch back to White Mage, you'd still be at Level 4 for the White Mage Job. Switching back to Warrior would mean you'd still be the same level warrior before you switched.

Now, after you reach a certain level (I think its 18), you are offered to go on a quest. If you complete the quest, you will earn the ability to equip a sub job (that you may have raised levels in earlier).

Also, advanced jobs like Samurai and Summoner can only be used after completing a specific quest for that job. Each advanced job has its own quest to complete in order to use it.

        I hope this helps!

          I've got a NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 ) (49,83%, like Tisted_Jenius said...) and I only got 1182 points all the time.
All the other things are as good or better as needed.

              OS: Windows XP
              CPU: Intel Celeron 2.2 Ghz
              RAM: 256 MP
              Hard Drive Space: 33 GB
              CD-ROM: 16x
              Sound Card: Yep, for 8.1
              Software: DirectX 8.1
Modem: 56k(But a slower connection speed)
Video Card: Intel Integrated Extreme 845G

Will this system work for FF XI? Just wanted to ask before I downloaded and ran the test.

i would add more memory, at the least get your system to 1/2 gig. also that intagrated graphics will probably kill you, but Im sure to some degree it;'ll still run.

Well, I can say that you guys are worrying too much. Most of you will be just fine, unfortunately the Benchmark doesn't show fps but I scored 3012 with my geforce 4 ti4600 128 meg card, which is double the recommendation.

I figure anyone with a geforce 3 or a Radeon 9000 cad with at least 64 megs of Ram should be fine. Not alot of ppl have cpus as low as 800 mhz(don't be offended, the computer I use on the weekend is a 700 overclocked to a 750 mhz) but y ffxi pc is a p4 1.8 ghz with 764 megs of SD ram, so its not overly beastly, but I figure the majority of the computer can run it.

And thanks alot for the info. the server thing sucks

And Battle Angel, maybe read upa bit before you ask a stupid question, and I believe u knew ur comp could run it, as ur comp is near top of the line and that was a chance to show off your setup in an attempt to get people to look at u in awe, thats just me though.

P.S: You would have had to read through the spec section to know about the benchmark.

P.P.S: on this thread and day http://www.ffxionline.com/forums/sho...threadid=17511

u claim u are lvl 16 red mage, but thats in 2 short days? if it takes around 200 hours to reach lvl 20 as someone rumored, then that would be impossible.

                  No one likes braggers.

                              Characters

If you create a character, then delete him later on, and then remake a new character, do you get charged for that character?
