  • Save and Load macros?

some time ago in a update of FFxi square made it possible to save and load your maked macros.
Anyone still knows how it worked, it was written on the on the us site of ffxi how to do, but i can not find it anymore. Im want to save my macros and load them in PC version. So anyone can quick tell me how to save and load?

    Thx very much...

I never use POL's macro saver... but if you open into your playonline folder you can easily copy all macros you have and back them up where ever you want.

macro files are stored in PlayOnline\SQUARE\FINAL FANTASY XI\USER
in there you'll see couple folders. each are for each character you have with the file mcr1.dat, mcr2.dat, mcr3.dat .....

copy the entire USER folder and use it for your own backup. not only macros will go but almost all settings will go too such as chat filters and magic sorting.

Macros, map markers, and other configuration files can now be saved to PlayOnline. There are four slots (one slot for one character) where data can be saved.
-To save data, press [L1+L3] or [Shift+Alt+Ctrl+B] at the character select screen. Use the directional buttons to select a slot to save the data to.
-To load data, press [R1+R3] or [Shif+Alt+Ctrl+R] at the character select screen. Use the directional buttons to select a slot to load the data from.
-To erase data, press [R2+L2+R3+L3] or [Shift+Alt+Ctrl+D] at the character select screen. Use the directional buttons to select a slot to delete the data from.

Useful going between PC and PS2. They need to make this system graphical, not button-smashing =._.=

I saved my macros to slotA on my PS2, in the file manager under navigation has it listed in Content Data...but neither my NA or JPN PC client sees that data, either in Navigator or by pressing R1+R3. Is there something else I need to do to send it between POL clients? Thanks.

Here's another useful tidbit for you:

Saving macros to PlayOnline only backs up the macros to the machine you are on.

I saved my macros to POL (using Ctrl+Alt+Shift+B) on my machine, went to a friend's house and logged in as myself, pushed Ctrl+Alt+Shift+R, and nothing was listed. What a shock.

What is the *&^%$#@ point of this feature? Backing up macros from my home FFXI installation... to my home POL installation?!?! WTF.

idk if we're talking about the same thing but it definitely helped me to put my macros from my laptop on my desktop (at home) although i didn't use POL to backup, eh
