    Part 1 - Level 13

Lately I have been wanting to rank up. As the feeling of exploration has been gnawing at me for a while. I want to see everything! So I figured I might as well explore some areas around town that I haven't been to and rank up at the same time. I come to behold a great mining area in the town and my need to enter rises as I stand there gazing at it.

Entering the mine I realize it looks similar to the man made portion of the cave I was exploring previously. Running through the mines dark and silent tunnels I notice there are monster lurking about. I engage in combat only to find that one spell kills it off. The monster here are far too weak. Then I begin to see others around level 5 fending off the monsters, ranking up.

So I quickly explore the mine ignoring all monsters. As they wouldn't dare attack me, for they could sense the power that I had. Stopping only to help a few Warriors here and there if they became overwhelmed in a battle.

Looking at my status menu I realize I only need a little bit to gain a level. I would finally be level 13 and would be able to use my fire spell. I quickly prepare my things and set off dashing to the cave I previously have been exploring.

Once I enter the cave I cast my Fire Shield and prepare for the upcoming battles ahead. I immediately begin looking for a partner so that we may reach some of the more difficult monsters for more experience.

Just a few minutes later I team up with Shirou who is the same level as me. Being a Warrior, he was of great help in our battles. He must have thought the same with me, as I could take up to 50HP damage with my sells compared to his 25HP with his sword. We continue ranking up together, fighting as a well balanced team. Although, because we did not have any healing magic, we had to rest often.

After some time Shirou had to leave and left me here in this deep, dark cave all alone. A little nervous I creped my way past some of the stronger monsters hoping they wouldn't attack me. Luck was with me, as I safely reach an area that I could handle alone. I still had to be careful however. As the monsters here love to attack in numbers rather then alone. Defeating hoards of Quadav type monsters I finally gain a level. Truly excited, I use my fire scroll right away and can't wait to try it out.

I make my way out of the cave. Ready to find any excuse to use my fire spell. Destroying every monster I come across with fire. It's night time as I walk the fields back to town and I look up into the sky noticing that there is only a sliver for a moon this night. Then as I look back ahead I see two warriors on Chocobos pass me by in a hurry. Wishing I was level 20 to use one, I continue on my way on foot.

Finally arriving in town I take the time to explore the town more and try starting a new mission. Coming across a few things I have never seen before. I was quite amazed. I enter a room and there is Cid! I knew he would be in the game, but I didn't think I would see him so soon. Then next to him was a gun powder room. Meaning guns will definitely be in the game. (Now that the patch is in, guns have been confirmed.)

Now I was level 13 and powerful enough to explore a new area...

Part 2 - Wadi and the Egg

Ah... Finally level 13 and with my fire spell. Feeling strong, I prepared myself to go on a journey to explore the Wadi area. Part of my mission was to find the monster that has an egg. Like always I set off by myself. As getting party members in town is always difficult because I don't peak Japanese.

After walking through the rocky and desert wasteland I finally reach my destination. I begin walking through the area alone. Walking by plants as big as me. Well, bigger then me really... Lol. The monsters were of little difficulty, but I still needed to party with some people.

To my surprise right where the monsters start getting harder, a Red Mage of the same level was sitting there looking for party members. I gladly accepted. I found out he was also waiting for a Warrior friend of his. So we sat there and talked for a bit. Come to find out he knows English very well and was eager to tell me about things I didn't know yet.

His name is Scarlet, though I didn't realize then, he became a great help to me and a nice friend to have. He also is the first person for me to have on my friends list. I'm sure he will be included in my following adventures.

Scarlet's friend finally arrives and we are introduced to each other. Masanao was a Warrior, so we now had a pretty good party. All of us at level 13, we were ready to take on the dangers ahead in the Wadi area.

This area give excellent experience I find out. And with our power it is easily come by. So we stay and continue fighting monsters all through the day. One of the most productive ranking up parties I have ever joined. Apparently many come here to gain experience. As we rested, you could see others fighting in the distance.

We kept fighting, but in the distance I see someone that's in trouble. I know they're about to die so I rush over to see if I may be able to assist him. He doesn't ask for help so we are unable to engage in combat with him. His HP is dropping an alarming rate. But he finally disengages combat with the monster and begins to run. Then Scarlet and Masanao quickly step in while I cast blind on the monsters. Toufu, was his name, ran over to the side of the cliff to rest. Following him over after we killed the monster we find out he's the same level as us and would be perfect if he joined us. Toufu is a Monk with a White Mage sub job. Now we had an excellent party. Red Mage, Warrior, Black Mage, and a Monk that could heal. Then we continue on to rank up. fighting through the night..

After some time we finally find the monster that you can win the egg from. Little did we know how powerful it would be. It wasn't a boss, but we had too few people in our party and we were at too low of a level to handle it. It was a Lizard type monsters, figuring it was weak; we attack right away. Then BAM! It's first attack is incredible. I quickly cast blind to prevent it from attacking again as the brave warrior taunts it to endure all of it's attacks. Our Red mage and Monk heal the Warrior as I continue casting my attack spells. My spells taking 50-60HP damage but the Lizard doesn't seem to be weakening that fast. Running out of magic I am forced to use my special move which allows me to cast all my magic spells without MP usage. With all of us near death we finally kill it and I receive my egg.

We sit down and rest just starting to gain our HP and MP back when out of no where a Goblin appears. We know we're about to die, but we try anyway. We all get back up from resting position and engage in battle. We survive a little bit, but then the Goblin does a fire attack spell that hits everyone and kills us all except our Monk. But he dies shortly after us. I'm transported back to town, but the rest are transported back to North Gustaberge. So we call it a day and say our goodbyes for the night.

While in town I took the change to sell my extra equipment I won during battle. But I also saw a TaruTaru Warrior. Which is actually a rare site, so I took a picture.

I hope you liked this one. It's not much because I mostly just ranked up. But I am happy to share my experiences with you. Thanks again for everyone's support! You are the best everyone!

ehm it's not really his journal. It's Guely's. Hence the name Guely's journal IV, but I agree with you. Guely's journals are truly great even though I've read them about a hundred times now.
