Wish I could help you, but the modding community on XI seems to have pretty much died in past years.

Still, hopefully this thread will get someone's attention.

Hmm. If you want sprite editing. Try pspgweber.com those people are savvy in that field. Since they edit game sprites for the PSP so I doubt FF XI .dat editing will be much of a challenge for them.
