Or PSU Project. I dunno, I like crud better since thats what my work really looks like, complete shit . Anyways.....
Kept tellin a bud of mine that I may or may port stuff from psu to ffxi, but most of the time, I was leaning on a big fat no. Porting things from that game is one of the hardest yet biggest challenges to do since you have to take so many things into account. You've got amazing skill as a FFXI modder if you can port all the things from PSU to ffxi.
So what is PSU for those that wonder? I dunno, sounds like a new drug. Oh wait, no no, its Phantasy Star Universe.
Now its time to answer this question that will arise somewhere. Things will not be a 1:1 port because 1. I like to do my own stuff and 2. Unless its a weapon, I like doing my own textures for things. 3. I like to change the modeling for whatever sometimes. 4. Its my damn project so I can do whatever the hell I want so hmm...looks like you're **** out of luck lol.
Now, for the time being, I doubt I do any clothes that players in the game can wear. What I'll mainly be doing is NPC clothng since well......in every game, the npc wears something cool that you want on your player.
So what do I have to show for now? Well, after much thought and finally motivation, I decided to do Laia's outfit. For those who don't play PSU, here is a shot of her.
Now what does mine look like? It doesn't look exactly like her outfit just yet (though some things will remain the same) modeling wise. For the most part, I'm still working on everything texture wise as I've got a long way to go before I finish. I have to admit, since I do the model first then the textures, things start coming together once you do the textures. If you can't do textures, then well....its just crap even after you got it done lol. Modeling on the hand, is far from finished. Due to some issues I won't say just yet, I can only show you the front and a angle view.
Oh yeah, I like that background color so get used to seeing it lol.
Yeah thats some hawt stuff. Always wanted a tough lookin HF. Btw, probably make a version with no tattoo's for those who have supreme issues with that.
Ok, so do you really want to know what the current issues is with the above work? If not, follow these simple directions :
1. Grab your mouse
2. Find the back button on your browser
3. Left click it!
Thats all to it! Now you don't have to hear all the techno babble and you can assume whatever you want, kthxbai.
Ok, so you're probably wondering, why can't I release this just yet? It has many serious issues and I will only explain a couple of em.
1. Textures aren't finished. Sure, that black jacket does look nice, but I plan to give it real textures, kthx. The only thing that is near finished is the pants.
2. The biggest issue is the bottom pants. If you look in the PSU SS, everything seems curved no? I will need to do the same thing to mine and that requires VRS and a lot of time, patience, and precision. You're looking from 2-10 hours on that depending on how motivated I am. If I get this done, the pants model itself will start to look a lot better and not look like so spiked up (Like most of the mods I've seen)
3. The jacket is dead weight....in other words, its a brick lol. I also need to do some other things to the jacket & body itself within VRS and once again that requires time, patience, and precision. I have to add a lot of points to the jacket and then set the skeletal weight which is going to be a true bitch to do. But hey, I can get it done.
4. Issues with the top pants, body, and jacket. Once I made her body + pants go together and fixed her pants so it would look normal anyways (You wouldn't see it since the jacket is covering her, but put on another body model, you would see it), well the pants and jacket collided with each other as you can somewhat see in the angled shot. This is why I did not show the back and side shots. This can be fixed though.
5. Gloves or hands themselves aren't finished.
6. Did I mention modeling isn't 100% done? Oh let me say it again.
7. Feet aren't finished yet. Sure I put hi-heels on, but it went best with that. This is something I left out on other forums.
So, if I can get all the above issues fixed along with the ones I did not mention, I can release that for public use. I don't think I'll need anyone to test it ingame for me since I know it works. So the big question is, will I have this finished soon? Answer = no. If you read what I said, if I want to get this done, I NEED TIME, PATIENCE, AND PRECISION! This is not your normal mod. Its a pain in the ass to do and sometimes its way over my head. Oh yeah, the other major factor is MOTIVATION. If I am motivated somehow...well, "work speeds" increase greatly thus you see more and more of this getting done.
Hmm better say this before I forget...most of these outfits I make only has one style or design to them. That means no 4095840584805804580485 color variations or styles. Changing it up means I have to change many other things that I did to the pants and whatnot and umm, $ pls or do it yourself kthxbai. Now there may be one or two more variations of it, but not like 4058405840854.
I think I'll have a super ego if I can fully animate the jacket (or vest now that I think about it) how I want it to. That be too badazz...oh wait, in my eyes it be badazz .
So this can take quite a while. I say more than 2-4 weeks, but thats just a rough estimate. You'll probably see some new drafts in the coming days or weeks, thats all I can tell you for now.
What else can you expect in the future? More outfits and maybe some weapons, but for now, Laia's outfit is the showstopper atm and I ain't budgin until its done. So if it takes 2 months, so be it. Not like I have to finish by x date since I do this in my free time.
Oh and one more thing, sadly all of whatever I do for the PSU crud project will probably be HF only LOL (If you wish to port, go ahead and have fun), kthxbai much luv .
