Very very lucky I felt like doing another tonight...........

- Well, the empress decided that she needed another rather powerful ally on her side. Titan was just not enough. One always needs more than one physical brute. Therefore, the empress went and tamed the mighty Ifrit.

After Ifrit was under her control, she wanted to power up ifrit. So she put ifrit in very very hot liquid gold for many years. After a couple years, she finally took it out to discover a extremely hardened golden Ifrit. She wasn't done yet though

She wanted to power up Ifrit even more and give him a "Egyptian look" to his gold. So her finest designers remade Ifrit into what it is now....a golden egyptian fire god. Some parts of Ifrit remained red due to Ifrit living deep within the Earth's core for so many years, but the empress enhanced that also to a extent.

Some notes to say..

Ifrit is actually 1 out of 2 of the avatars that one could actually make fully gold. Titan could not be made all gold due to stretched textures. Ifrit suffers from some of this, but nothing major.

Ifrit was actually easier to do when compared to titan or garuda. Infact, laying out the textures were pretty easy. So was Ifrit easy? No, there is a big reason why Ifrit is one of the hardest ones to edit and I won't explain why that is. You will just assume that it was hard.

I decided not to make ifrit fully red because of his body. I find that the red textures I created for him are a lot better for his inner body. For the nick picky, you may wonder why I did not use my red textures for the front of his body. I am not going to explain that either. Instead, I will tell you that it saved me a lot of time doing it like I did and that is how I wanted it. If you don't like it that way, you change it. You can complain to me on here, but I don't really care lol. That goes for anything else one may find wrong with Ifrit. Go do a Ifrit yourself lol!

Originally, Ifrit had red horns, but since I wanted to make every avatar unique in some way, I wanted Ifrit to be gold mainly. So for example, I wouldn't want to make all avatars gold if I really wanted. You should try and do something different for every avatar because its more variety. I will make Ifrit prime horns red though when I do the EG Avatar pack after everything is done though.

On the difficulty scale, I rate Ifrit a 6 out of 10. Laying out his textures was incredibly easy which is why he scored a 6. The main difficulty was the design of Ifrit.

So who was the other avatar that could be made fully golden? I know what most are thinking, but you're probably wrong.

So it comes down to Leviathan an Diabolos..........who is the harder one you ask? I'll leave that a mystery for now. Unless I get done with my csc HW rather fast tomorrow (Oh and I mean Thursday, I still refer right now as Wednesday), you will probably not see this next avatar until the weekend.

Have you tried expanding the texture size in VRS? I know that doesn't work for certain things, but it seemed to work for certain weapons.

Yeah, for some reason...........I could not access these forums for a long time until now. I guess I was the only one that had this problem . So I went over to ffxidats and posted what I did next instead of here. So here is a copy and paste of what I said on those forums....

- Well, the Empress has a rather good force on her side so far. She has gods that have the power of physical strength, speed, and magic, but she wanted more. She wanted another god that was evil and sinister just like her. The problem is, how would she go about getting this powerful ally on her side?

The only other sinister and evil god out there was Diablos. Diablos excelled in the dark arts and is prehaps the best dark god of them all. Obviously, the Empress could not just walk into Diablos's domain and ask if it would join her.

Instead, the Empress does what she usually does and uses force to make the gods join her. Lets just say she used rather painful magic on Diablos for him to succumb to her.

So the empress gained yet another powerful ally on her side. For being on the empress's side, she grants that person even greater power than before. Therefore, Diablos got a huge upgrade when it came to physical strength and intelligence. It also got a new type of protective armor made from the finest Egyptian blacksmiths.

Note, I need to say a few things here first....

- He now has a real tongue.....or lets say red .
- HQ renders don't do him enough justice because transparency is missing on some things. For example, there are a part of the wings that look cut off yet in game or in modelviewer, its not like that.

Some notes....

- Diablos is 1-159-51 which translates into ROM/159.

- I actually finished Diablos Thursday night. I just didn't feel like doing the renders (6 renders = 25-30 mins) nor did I feel like posting.

- Diablos is quite possibly the next hardest avatar to do besides Garuda. It takes the cake when it comes to texture layout. Garuda was easier than this. This makes Diablos one of the most hardest avatars to edit as you WILL lose your sanity if you cannot take the pressure after a couple hours. I will say this though....if you can get his wings and his face done, the rest of it is a breeze which is why he is on par with Garuda. Laying out Garuda's textures were easy.

I think for hours and hours, I spent just on the face and the wings and I was going to say, "Umm yeah, do Leviathan." I cannot stress the fact that Diablos has one of the craziest texture layouts that I have ever seen before when it comes to modding this game. If you can truly retexture Diablos (meaning textures and not a recolor), then you can do the rest of the avatars. Diablos is simply one of the most confusing yet annoying avatars to do and I do not think I will ever do another retexture of him again. Its like super complicated. So if you can do this, you are about halfway there on the insanity curve when compared to myself. I am 10000% insane since I do very complicated armor/weapon mods and will spent hours on end getting crap right. The average user.......will indeed shoot him/herself after doing what I do for just a few hours.

- Color scheme..........let me talk about this some. Originally, I was going to make Diablos main body textures red, but they looked like crap. Then I tried my black textures, but the black textures did not really look right on him as the most used color. So what I had to do was go for gold/brown and design some kind of outfit for him. So what I have done is this. I have made a Diablos that is black naturally, but he has protective armor on. That is why his feet and hands are black. It is to show you that if Diablos took that off, he'd be fully black.

His tail............MUST be black. The tail is extremely stretched and when you apply good textures like my gold and red textures, it looks like complete crap. The best thing for his tail was my black textures which worked out pretty well for him.

His wings.......well, I got that right on the start. A mix of black/red/gold works well. Any other way would of made it look like crap in my opinion.

Why did I not use red textures for his Feet and gloves? It looks like crap and since black is not used a whole lot for Diablos, this is the best color to go with the gold textures. It may be my personal preference, but if you don't like it, change or don't use it. Have fun trying to figure out how to change the hands/feet as I will tell you unlike other avatars, I had to use special care with Diablos. If you change one part, you change the other. The other avatars did not have this issue. Anyways, since his tail was black and I wanted to make him black under the suit anyways, the hands and feet should be black.

So does that mean Leviathan is the hardest avatar to do? Nope, Diablos will take the cake on ANY avatar when it comes to texture layout........its really complicated. What makes Leviathan so hard is the color scheme and the fact Leviathan is extremely stretched so I have to rework my textures. Its a good thing I did Diablos first though as the 2nd toughest avatar is out of the way.

On the difficulty scale, Diablos deserves the same score as Garuda which is a 10. Both Diablos and Garuda had their extremely easy parts and extremely hard parts. Garuda had some things that were easier than Diablos and vice versa. I may or may not ever do a Diablos retexture ever again. Like I said, if you can do Diablos rather well (yes, it has to look good lol), you can do all avatars.

So everyone knows who the last avatar is now. I do not know when I will do Leviathan. Going to get PSU today hopefully so I cannot tell you. The only thing I can tell you is that I want this done so I can go back to working on stuff on weekends or a random weekeday. After I post leviathan though, I got one more thing to do and then some final messages for this thread.

Nobody knows when I will do leviathan. I am currently spending 100% of my free time playing PSU.

Nah, not going to mess with that for these lol. Normally I would, but I would probably mess with that if it was something for a PC (player character for those that don't know lol). The only avatar that I would probably try this on if I wanted is Titan since if you made him with my gold textures, he would look really messed up lol. But nah, the avatars are fine even though I complain about it at times .

I'll let you guys know that I am probably going to do leviathan sometime this weekend since I am going home for thanksgiving (TG break, I get a week off). PSU may get in the way since after this server maintenance, new content is added, but I'll try to make time to mod sat or sun or early monday. Nobody else knows about this so I just let you guys in on a lil secret .

I'll try not to do it crappy btw lol. I want to do this so I don't leave you guys waiting for weeks for me to do just one more measly avatar.

Hah, I wonder how many doubted me (read what I said above). Whenever I give you a real date on something, it will ALWAYS get done and released to the public. In this case, I said either friday, saturday, sunday, or early monday morning which is still sunday to me. Well, it is technically early monday (3 am). Only time I break that rule is if something comes up at the last minute (like if my pc died).

Well, the empress had all the most strongest and powerful guards ever. But there was one more god that needed to be her ally. Leviathan controlled the
waters around the lands. Leviathan was also a great healer.

So the empress fought against Leviathan and won the battle. In return, she transformed Leviathan and gave him even greater powers. Ofcourse, she also made Leviathan more sinister than what it already was.

By gaining Leviathan, the empress has the most powerful gods that reside on Earth and Vana'diel. Is there someone that will stop the empress's reign?!

Things to say about leviathan
- Leviathan was a rush job, but not the type of rush job you are thinking. Problem is, you cannot rush rather good textures and work, but I tried doing that. It still took me about 3 hours. I had 2 choices. Either fail to deliever on Leviathan and not come back for another 2 weeks or attempt to do leviathan once more and not give up.

- Leviathan uses the latest textures I have created for my EG project. Obviously, if you don't have a brain already, all textures featured on these avatars belong to the PC (player character aka my HF). Unlike the rest of the avatars, Leviathan has its own special gold/red textures.

- Leviathan didn't suffer from much "stretching." Infact, Leviathan is probably the only one that does not suffer much at all from it. The only type of stretching was at the end of the his tail where my textures got deformed.

- There are a few issues with Leviathan and I did not take the time to fix them. Most don't know what I'm talking about, but there are currently 2 issues with Leviathan. Your average user won't pick up on it. So really, it does not matter.

- At first, I was going to make Leviathan like diablos and use brown for its secondary color. Then I said, "Well, every avatar needs to have something others don't have." This is why I decided to try my new textures on Leviathan and they worked rather well. If I used the textures I used for Leviathan on Titan, it would not look right.

- On the difficulty scale, I give leviathan a 8.8 out of 10. I could not design the Leviathan above without using a new set of textures. That is the main reason why I struggled with him when I did him after Shiva. Easier than Diablos and Garuda though.

Other Notes
I AM FRIGGIN DONE!.............well almost. You may think that because I did all the avatars now, I am done. No, I am not. There is one more thing I must do. What I am going to do is package the current avatars created in a single rar file for new people that d/l these. I am also going to include extras in the rar file meaning there will be avatar prime versions that look different from the ones you've seen so far. Some may be a simple color/texture change......more complicated avatars will have very small changes done to them. The only avatar that will not have a prime version of itself is diablos because both the avatar prime and the avatar your pc can use belong to the same dat file.

After the above is done, I AM FINISHED and I will not post in this thread again unless someone decides to ask me something. In my eyes, the thread is done and dead and eventually, the avatar pack would be on my site. I feel so good now that its done so I can go back to working on my EG Project. Like I said, I have some rather impressive designs both armor and clothing wise coming in the future. Also, if you are looking for the EG summoner outfit, it will appear in that EG Set thread that I made. It will be a retextured version of the summoner AF and will work for all races . I will try to get this out first thing for you damn summoners, but don't rush me .

I do not know when this so called "avatar pack" is coming. It can come at anytime, but I won't give a date. I'll let it be a surprise. But you can expect within the month.

Which avatar do I like the most? I like Leviathan the most because of the blue eyes/mouth and his overall look. Ramuh comes to a close second while Shiva is third. The rest I won't mention, but I do like Garuda and Carbuncle .

That is all, don't expect much more from me in the future. I will be going extremely slow when it comes to ffxi modding now.

Hehe, another lil surprise from me. Might want to read this, I think its worth the read .

Remember how I said avatar primes may be slightly different? I think I may of lied for a couple of those avatars. What I am going to do for some avatars is do a total rehaul on them meaning that the difference between the player avatar and avatar is very different. There is no good way for me to explain this but to say this. This is what I have changed for shiva.....

Changes for Shiva - Total hours spent : 2 hours
- Totally new design (new textures)
- Shiva's "stretched textures" are no more. Textures appear as they are supposed to be like. I did some non VRS stuff for this . So called stretched textures were on those wing like thingies attached to her....w/e they are lol.
- Enhanced Shiva's overall design
- Made Shiva more human like...
--- Replaced Shiva's original eyes with human like ones that I designed. Then I made them look like a human's eyes by adding the white around them. This is expirimental
--- Replaced Shiva's original lips with the lips that I designed. This is expirimental as there is something that needs to be fixed.
--- Replaced Shiva's hair with a more "human" type of hair. In other words, it uses the same hair textures as my HF. Changed hair color to brown instead of black
- Started finalizing Shiva Prime's design. There are 3 issues currently. After these 3 issues are fixed, then Shiva Prime is done.

In other words, I am putting a lot more work in some of the avatar primes like I do when I normally mod for PCs. So yes, A+++ quality material when I'm working with some of the avatar primes. So I thought for now until I release that avatar pack, I'd show teaser shots of the avatar primes for you to drool over lol. Now, I present to you this :

I want to talk in more detail about the eyes. They were not easy to do. I rather show you the difference by looking at both the prime avatar and player avatar.

This is the player avatar for those who don't have a brain. Look at the eyes. Even though I changed the eye color, isn't there something missing to make it truly human like?


Now look at one of the shots above that to see the difference. Like I said, it wasn't a easy task. I had to do something else to the eyes to make them look right overall.
D/L link? This is going to be included in the avatar pack and is not a standalone release after I fix those 3 problems with it. For those wondering, there will be a player made shiva version based off the prime above so yes, you can use that on the Shiva you control.

I know what some of you are saying. You want this bad lol. If you really can't live without this for maybe a couple days or weeks until the avatar pack is released, then you'll have to talk to me on aim to get it. Asking for it via pm doesn't work anymore since anyone can look at my directory at any time to see if anything new has been added. Thats why I do it this way. So either do that or wait like the public has to.

So which avatar do I like now? I think its obvious........I like Shiva Prime avatar the most lol. Shiva has always been my favorite to edit from the start. Too bad she is not easy to edit.

Like I said, some prime avatars won't recieve such a drastic change. Leviathan mainly because I don't think I'm going to do a prime version of that.

Oh last thing I'll say is that when I meant within the month, I meant the month of December lol. I doubt I finish the primes before the end of November.

Shiva is my favorite too, but sadly your dat is not the best looking one for her so I'm sticking with the true icy feeling of the old one I've gotten months ago.

Nice work though, if I didn't have my current dat I would probably have used it.

The only downside with this avatar pack is that I fear I'll get tired of having most avatars be mostly dark,gold,redish since it is a bit refreshing to see different colors when summoning them. Would have been nice if you were insane enough to make some graphical improvements to the standard color sets.

Lol, for the last time, I don't really care about that . I could care less if people use these or not and I'm not really competing with anyone when it comes to which avatar looks better. Some people like my Shiva while others don't. Just get it out of your head that I am trying to make you use these lol. Like I stated at start, this is just something I decided to do on the side as I absolutely hate working on avatars. I rather work on things for PCs as that is what I am better at. So I'm just putting these out to add to already growing avatar collection which is not very huge no? Its better than nothing at all.

Get tired of it lol? I get tired of any mod by a person after 1 day back then. This is natural and you see this in ANY game. Who wants to be using the same thing forever lol? I cannot fix this so called issue because its impossible to fix lmao. That is up to the person and not me.

The color scheme, some have been bringing that up. So let me say this once again -.-. When I do a project on something, its already going to have pre defined colors/textures. So for the Egyptian project, the main color is gold while secondary colors are red, black, and silver because that is what Egyptian stuff is. I have never seen anything in a movie that had Egyptian like things in it (clothing, palace, guard's armor, etc) that were pink, green, purple, etc as their main colors. 90% of the time, its gold. If I used different colors, it is technically not egyptian so why the hell did I call it eygptian lol? Its like saying don't make cloud's outfit purple, make it something else.

People think doing textures are easy too. It takes me a lot of time to get textures made for a project and I cannot just change their color like that as it degrades them. And no, I'm not some charity service either lol. Sure, if someone paid me a lot of $ to mod them what they want, then yeah, I would do everything you want, but I'm doing all of this for free.

I wasn't trying to complain or ***** at ya, but I had to get my point across. Like I have always stated at start, don't like, don't use lol. Could care less lol.

I'm taking the rest of my break off for Thanksgiving with the family and PSU. Btw, for those who play PSU, I'm lvl 50 with some rather good gear buhahaha lol.
