  • Demios DBS

    Demios, the Double bladed sword is apart of my "Demios Project" which you probably won't see anytime soon.......and when I mean anytime soon, I mean a long time lol. This so called project would contain a evil looking set of armor along with many other goodies to attach to the main outfits.

    Originally, when I do double bladed swords, they always turn out to be huge. So this time, I did something a little different. For the one handed version, it is more of the size on my character and you don't have a huge blade sitting by your side like with my old double saber mod.

    If I could make double bladed sword animations, then both blades would be of use instead of one. But alas, I rather have SE's tools for that if I did ever want to do that. In some weapon skill animations like swift blade, hexa strike, etc, it does look like she is using it like its supposed to be used.

    This is actually finished. There are 0 problems with it. It has been tested in game and it works fine. I did not test the 1h versions as I assumed if the 2h version works, they all work. Therefore, I will release this piece of the project for now.

    Porting
    Eventually, I'll port this to the rest of the races. I'm not really concerned about it at the moment because I only intended it being for HF due to outfits I'll make for this project. You can go ahead and port it to x race if you can't wait (I suggest you do this actually) as a beginner in VRS should be able to port weapons to another race with no problems. Note, the rest of the project will be for HF only though. I don't think guys have boobs so looks like you can't port it .

    Other things
    Basically, for me to start on this project, I have to finish my dress project....basically, it has to be perfect. That is probably why you wouldn't see jack for a long time. Shouldn't take long to fix the problems in my dress project? I don't mod daily nor do I intend to. Mod = Hobby, kthxbai.

    It should be on my site maybe today, but I doubt it. I've got my hands full with many other things while trying to get that site back up so don't count on it. Heh, I knew I should of just stayed out of the web design world.

    Comment on this if you want, just know nothing will be changed. If you want a different design, you make your own. If you want something changed with the model, you do it. Don't worry, you can use changetex. I don't do requests no ways.

      Demios - MM DBS

      So one day Demios decided that she wanted a new type of double bladed sword, mainly for females. Small, swift, but very fast at wielding. So she took Sephiroth's Masamune and transformed it into a feminine like double bladed sword. But that wasn't all she wanted to do with it. Ofcourse, she had to make it evilish. So she went around Jeuno, Bastok, San D'Oria, and Windurst and slain all the noobs within. Then the DBS turned black & Red. Red due to amount of noobs slain shouting in Jeuno saying things like "Lvl 60 Drg, looking for group." Black due to herself being evil.

      Ah ok, thats it. Reality check time. Yeah, I find that story crap dumb, but people in Oblivion do it a lot for their mods and since I've been modding Oblivion more than ever, it slips out.

      Basically what I have done is made Sephiroth's Masamune into a DBS. Funny thing about it is that I made a new Masamune then redone it specifically for HF. Its not as big as the first double bladed sword you've seen above, but the blades make it seem like that. Hey, if you read that dumb story , its supposed to be small and feminine xD.

      You cannot use this as a 2H weapon. I've made sure of that. If you decide you want to wield this as a 2H'ed weapon, you will find after you're done that she is now touching the blades itself making you say "Why would anyone be wielding a weapon like that?" xD. IF you are determined to make it a 2h weapon, then you can. You just have to do some "size" adjustments and hopefully, everything will turn out fine.

      This is the last double bladed sword I make for this project. I'm not making any more.

      Porting
      Like it says in the readme, I don't care if you port it to x race. Infact, let me say it now. I take back what I've said in my first post. I'm not porting anything xD. Too lazy to do it I suppose. If you port it, you can release it, but better not say you did the model because we all know I did .

      If you redo the textures and try to release, need to talk to me. One thing I hate is people taking credit for something they didn't do.

      Other things
      Meh, in case you're wondering, I'm kinda working backwards this time. I'm actually making the weapons for this project first. That would probably change though.

      Who is Demios? Hah, my future HF. Goddess of all evil I guess . Would need to create the initial outfit + redo my head model again. For people who don't like dark/evil looking outfits/weapons, you should just wait on the other project which represents the good. Still trying to figure out a name that doesn't sound evil though xD.

      Any outfit stuff soon? Hah, I might make the leg outfits because thats the easiest to do xD. Textures are going to play a bigger role than the models themselves in this project methinks.

      Oh and one more thing I suppose. This project was started due to the fact that its almost my 4th year at modding ffxi. I always do something complicated and out of the blue every year for this. Hopefully, this one will actually be releasable lol. 4 years = Crazy no? I think so too, hopefully I'll quit sometime during this 4th year or just be inactive for another 3-6 months.

      Oh and I'll change this from Demios DBS to just Demios (too lazy atm). I'm not going to be a noob and start a new thread based on the outfit whenever I do start on it.

          Grand Dragon's Sword

          The goddess Demios decided that she wanted a very powerful weapon. It didn't have to be light and fast to wield, but slow with great damage.

          She crafted a great sword, but it was missing something. Absolute power. The Grand Dragon of all dragons held such a power.......

          The Grand Dragon wasn't going to give in Demios though. It was going to put up a fight.

          After a great struggle between Demios and the Grand Dragon, Demios successfully defeated the Grand Dragon. From the Grand Dragon, she took the Dragon's source of power and put that in her sword.

          With her evil intent, she transformed her sword into the Grand Dragon's Sword. The look of the sword was quite gruesome. For the sword flows with the blood and soul of the Grand Dragon. To power up the great sword even more, Demios put the Grand Dragon's eye into the socket of her sword. Now the sword was complete. For if the eye ever fall out of the socket, the sword would lose a tremendous amount of power.



          Demios thought smart though. She wanted to wield it with only one hand. What she didn't know was the fact that this sword consumes on her life also. So wielding this weapon with one hand would make you very weak.

          There were 2 ways of solving this. 1. Defeat the Goddess of good, Selene, and take her great sword or 2. Craft the same greatsword, but defeat the Holy Dragon.

          As usual, Demios defeats the Holy dragon. Her sword is now blessed with the power of the holy dragon of healing. So now she can wield both with no problems.

          Hmm, I think I like doing it this way instead of giving you boring details about the project lol.

          I put some good work in the Grand Dragon's Sword. I wanted to make it look like a blood dripping GS (impossible to do in FFXI) and have the eye glow which was somewhat accomplished. I can get the sword glowing in Oblivion if I wanted.

          Due to the length of the Great Swords, using them as 1h weapons may have 2 undesired effects. 1. It would probably go through the ground when you're standing around someplace. 2. They probably wouldn't so great when you're not fighting as you have 2 big swords by your side. Eh, some like it, some don't. Personally, I don't care lol.

          Now I'm guessing what most are wanting to see now is the initial outfit no? Even when I do show it, I won't release it until everything is done.

          Port?
          You can port it to whatever, I don't really care as long as you mention who did it if you want to give it to the public. I'm not porting anything anymore at all to x race. I don't run a charity service here >,>.

          Don't get your panties in a bunch just because I actually posted 2 things twice in a short amount of time. This doesn't mean I'm going to mod all night or mod the next day. I'm about to go to sleep. I thought I do this real quick before I call it a night. My work schedule gets a little hectic tomorrow so I doubt I'll do any modding.

            Hey, I'm dead actually....

            I'm alive!

            Sorry, no story this time. Infact, this isn't much really. College has started again and I don't have a lot of time. Sure, I could make time for modding if I wanted, but its a hobby so its at the bottom of the list.

            Lets get right into it..........

            Head Model - Yes, finally did that. Wanted to make her look pretty pissed off looking. I was going to use red eyes.....but I'm just not a fan of that. I like blue . Lets see....what else.........I tweaked the head model a lot. Eyes, eyebrows, etc look different from my other head model. I would show you a direct comparison if you do not notice, but I didn't do it ;P.

            Lets see...I was going to add these wierd symbols on her face but I just don't like that myself.........

            Atfirst, she looked really goth looking and I had to change that lol...........

            Outfits - Yes, I have started on one that was based off my dress model. Probably be 4 versions of it texture wise. The one below is black. The outfit you see below is outfit #6 actually. This outfit will have something added on the body model. I would show the shot of that, but its not worth showing yet. Its something from Samurai Deeper Kyo though.

            There will be a total of probably 10 or so outfits to choose from and then about 3-5 designs for each one making that a total of 30-50 outfit designs.

            Armor sets - Nope........not yet. Expect some really good armor set designs though. Like I've always said, quality work takes time.......not something done in one day.

            Headgear sets - Not a fan of this but........probably around 10-20 different headgear to choose from.

            There will probably be a total of 5-7 armor sets to choose from with about 3-5 different designs for each one. I'm not so keen on doing heavy armor because I'm not all that great at it. More of the outfit person.....

            Weapons - Nothing new........lets see what I'm going to add in the future.....
            Great Katana
            Bow
            Axe
            Great Axe
            Scythe
            Polearm (Maybe.......)
            Other (This means I'm not telling you yet)

            No more double bladed swords by the way, go make your own.....

            Some good news maybe......

            I've tweaked my Hi heels once again.........they are finished. I fixed those stupid problems with them texture wise. I will show you what I mean in a minute.

            Working on the "perfect bandless" hands. Below is a rough draft. I did something like this long ago, but never really perfected it.

            Umm yeah..........thats like the only good news I can think of lol. Bad news is that I'm slow and unreliable and who knows when I'll start on the rest of the stuff....

            You must wonder, why are the hands and body a different skin color? I would explain.........but I'm just going to tell you that I can't really fix this. You will not see it when you're in game, only when you render your models.

            Hmm now let me explain the Hi-Heel situation.....

            You should have noticed it, but if you didn't, the back part of the hi heels weren't finished. It showed skin textures instead of heel textures. Lets show you a picture of the old version. Look at the right foot.



            Now take my final version.......



            If you didn't notice, the skin texture is not there anymore. If you didn't notice a difference at all then you have bad eyes and that tells me I can get away with whatever I want without you noticing.....

            Lets take a look at the back heel on the old version.....



            Now look at the third shot I posted, different eh?

            So the high heels are finally finalized and I gave it some updates. I will release the new high heels when I release one of my outfits. Don't ask for it now. There will be 2 versions, one that has all of the leg showing and one that is designed for dresses.....

            I'll probably get a pm or email about this, but the head model will never be released. Why do something like this when you can't have everything? Dunno, I rather just keep it to myself . I'm not so keen on releasing HF head model mods compared to other races. If I made it with symbols or made her look really ugly, I would release it lol. I'll release one of my old ones though sometime. I think I've done about 20-50 head model mods for HF anyways.

            Don't worry, I'll make some interesting HF face mods when I have the time.........which will be whenever. As of late, I've been doing some hardcore tweaking when I work on models now.......something I didn't do a lot. Right now though....I'll be hardcore tweaking the hands which are shown above so I'm not so interested in this at the moment.

            That is all, don't know when I'll post again lol.

              lmao @ the story mode.....

              I remember modding Morrowind and seeing the stories involved in a lot of the mods, be it weapons, heads, or just a different texture for a rock.

                Hmm.....this new v5 layout......I wish there was a "light" version . Nevertheless, very nice.

                I'm a little tired and cranky so I can't make up some crazy story. I'm going to be direct.

                This is Demios's Wyvern Scythe. What I have tried to do with this scythe is make it resemble a evil looking, talking wyvern. This time around though, the textures aren't what you've normally seen on my previous weapons. I worked my butt off the textures for this scythe though. It may not look like it, but I did.

                Scythe is not perfect yet.....


                You may think after looking at the shots, the handle needs some fixing. Well it does, but the thing is, you will probably not notice that when you see it ingame. Here is a modelviewer shot. Can you really see the handle problems now?



                The thing that max does for me is that it points out any problem with any mod I do. It is not noticable that much in Modelviewer/Meta/VRS unless I do something that is way off. So this just helps me to make my things "perfect" you could say.

                Other than that, the scythe is pretty much finished. I'll release a beta of it for now. I have some fixes planned for it and will release the final version when I show a heavy armor model. You never know, some of the armor designs may be based off the colors shown in the scythe.....

                Not porting this to another race. Do it yourself, but don't release to public without my permission. Porting weapons is so so easy guys...I expect majority of you to know how to do it. But I wouldn't port it until I release the final version though, but hey, who is going to wait on that?

                Other things....
                Hmm, Shadow's Lair.......I resurrected it, then I dumped it again. Things came up, oh well. I'll get back on it sometime in the future.

                Dress project? Its not forgotten. This is the key reason why I have yet to start on any other outfits or armor for this project. The dress project needs to be completed before I move on and I have yet to want to do it.

                Hands.......after the dress project is finished........I'll fix those hands up to be more female like.......probably decrease the size of her arms on the body model also.

                Forgot 2 more weapons. Going to do some Katanas and some hand to hand weapons.

                Don't know how much more I can do since it is labor day weekend and all. All my professors loaded me up with a ton of homework then decided to throw quizzes when we come back on wednesday. I'm swamped with homework all weekend unfortunately. Then again, I don't know what I'll work on next anyways modding wise.

                  Ah, I put some time out tonight to mod. It gives me a nice break from what I was doing majority of the day.

                  This time around, I did the great katana. Same as before, no story. Just going to be direct lol. Doing it story wise requires me to actually "think" :>.

                  What I did was I took the Masamune DBS apart and make it a great katana. Oh, now you're thinking we just have that as a GK now eh? Nah, I changed up the textures for the blade itself.

                  What I was trying to aim for when doing this blade was have it have a very light, crystal/barbwired appearence to it. It may resemeble something like that shown in the shots below, but when you use this ingame or in modelviewer, the lighting takes effect and what you see above is not really what you're going to be using. I imagine if you go to dark areas, it would look just like it is shown in the below shots.

                  But this is not tonight's star attraction.....its actually what else I have added to this GK. You know how you've seen in martial arts or anime movies where they have multiple katana's sheathed on their side and how they only really use one? That is what I have done here.

                  Atfirst, it was just for fun, but after getting everything correct, I have done it. I have even added animation to it. I will show you how mine differs from what your weapon normally does when you're not using it in some of the below shots.

                  There is one minor problem though.....I did this off the top of my head and on the fly. I had no image of someone from a movie or anime showing how its supposed to look like. So its really not ready yet until I fix this little issue and the fact I have to make the outfit that goes with this weapon. I might even add some additions to make it seem more realistic. Hmm, there is no other way for me to describe what I mean, you will just have to wait and see as I fix it and add what I'm planning to add.

                  Hmm...shots shot...this time, I'll handle it a different way....

                  Here you see the blade itself


                  In this shot, I'm trying to point out to you the sheathed Katana. Now normally, it shouldn't be looking like that when she moves. What my version does is that it animates itself (hmm, I wish I could define exactly what I mean by that) + it will try to mimic what the body does. So if the body lunges forward, it will lunge backwards.


                  Another shot of the blade itself. Also, as you can see in the shot with the sheathed katana, normally, a weapon would not go back that far. It would just sit by your side hard as a rock....


                  Ah now, we have a example to show you how my sheathed Katana reacts with the character animation version the default since we're not using the other GK. Once again, what I have tried to do is make it follow body movements. If you bend down, would your Katanas stay in place? No, they would also move forward, back, up or down. That is what I'm trying to do here.


                  Ah, another good example. In this shot, she is bending down. Did you notice how the unsheathed katana goes back like that (SE default) while my sheathed katana doesn't? Normally, a weapon shouldn't do that (the unsheated one). It should be like my sheathed one except its pulled further back.

                  Ah, another example. Ok, lets say I actually had a sub hand weapon on my right side. You should know it wouldn't do what the sheathed katana does. It will be hard as a rock . Once again, I am trying to get it to work in unison with the body. If the body goes and bends forward, the sheathed katana shall move back. It does not stay still.


                  Well that was quite amazing to me in my eyes since I did something like this long ago and it didn't work.

                  So you want to try this out for yourself? Unfortunately, I'm not giving you this just yet to play around with. Main reason is because its not finished yet and I need to fix alignment issues. The other issue is I am not 100% sure if the textures on the second katana will show ingame. I do not have my friend's account anymore. Paying 12.95 a month for nothing but modding tells me I should just use that money for gas or something. So I should be better aware of knowing if this works in game or not.

                  So when I finally do release this and the sheathed katana or both weapons themselves don't look right at all, all I can tell you is "Oh well, thats life."

                  But I will give you the GK for now. This is without the second katana.

                  Other things...
                  I have noticed some people like to access my mod directory on my server and see if I have added anything new. I'm just going to tell you that I never upload any betas or new mods. I only do that when I'm ready to release something to the public. But keep doing this .

                  Meh.....I might go ahead and do the outfit for the GK, but I'm not 100% sure yet. Outfit designs usually take ages to complete and takes forever to get started on. I am also missing vital secondary things for any body/hand model so it may have to wait.

                  I doubt I do a Great Axe weapon. I was messing around with one I did the other day and it turned out to be crap.

                  Most are thinking that these weapon mods don't take long to do. I have to reserve 3-5 hours for it because thats how long it usually takes. Things like outfits or armor is usually 5-10 hours. So don't think because it looks like it was done in 20 minutes, I didn't spend any time on it. You're mistaken.

                  Hmm, I forgot whatever else I wanted to say. You might see more stuff tomorrow (That would make it actually Sunday night/early Monday) or not. I am enjoying what I do though which is a first......

                  Meh, I forgot to mention, there was another problem with the handle on both weapons. If you don't notice it in the shots, thats good. But if you do, it will be fixed when I show you the outfit for the GK....and I mean when the outfit is final........not beta. My bad on that lol.

                      Here, katanas. There were a pain in the butt to do because its based off the GK. I think I spent a good hour just making you wield them correctly. Then I finally noticed that it looked like that for all katanas so I said to myself "Well, I guess I got it where she wields them correctly." Only thing is that I made them for my hand model so I will probably be off if you use anything other than my hand model.

                      The pants? Nah, thats for something else.


                      If I didn't package it correctly, umm oh well lol. I'll fix it sometime in the future. Most of the time, I'm 98% accurate on this lol. Umm I think I'm sure I didn't pack the katanas that were off but if I did......well, oh **** lol.

                      Some things I forgot to add..

                      Making swords. Probably based off exaclibur model, or maybe not.
                      Making daggers.
                      Dropping axes (Did i say this before lol?). I suck at doing GA and Axes. I have no talent in that field.

                      Since this wasn't much, i suppose this will hold you at bay. One of my outfits is a trenchcoat which I will be working on sometime this weekend. Maybe you'll see a draft of it, but it will be a fully functional trenchcoat. Oh and don't hold me to that promise lol.

                        Master Shake

                        Been awhile........I have tried to squeeze some modding time out of my busy schedule the past days....or weeks I guess.

                        So finally, I have something new to show to the public. I have the second draft of my first heavy armor for this project done. I decided that the trenchcoat can wait.

                        I spent a lot of time on the model itself......hmm.......about 7-10 hours I guess? I haven't spent a ton of time on textures yet. Sad thing is, I had everything done last night. But something that I did that dealt with the body (texture wise) corrupted the whole body dat file and I lost everything >,>. Was pissed off. Only good thing was I had the parts I needed to make my body armor again along with a mqo with all of it together so I could get everything right again. Some parts I had to completely redo though.

                        Anyways, its a first draft which will probably change throughout its trials. The first rough drafts were pretty bad and I thought to myself, "How is this going to look anywhere half decent lol?" The textures themselves aren't set in stone yet as a) I'm still playing around with them and B) its just a draft to show to the public so they don't think I dropped the project. I will say the shoulder plates are final texture wise. I am by no means changing them up. But I am going to polish them off some, but its not what you think. Other parts like the boots I like, but I will probably add red somewhere in them. Other things...well, I gave it something so I could show the public some kind of draft lol.

                        I have yet to start on the gloves.......unfortunately, I have no idea at the moment on how I want to do the gloves.........


                        HQ Renders are somewhat off on some things since the things that are supposed to be transparent, aren't. The boots being so dark is my fault as the next set of renders won't be like that. So here is modelviewer shots...



                        Ok, more mumbo jumbo. For those that hate reading, this is the end for you so post or leave .

                        Many things are unfinished with this armor model. I did not show the back side because I am not done with it.

                        Fortunately, people are lucky I had to redo the body model anyways. There is a 99% probability that it wouldn't work ingame due to what I did. But on the redo, its guranteed to look like it does in the above shots ingame. The only thing as of now that will probably not look right ingame are the boots...which suck if so.

                        That is heavy armor #1, style #1. If you do not like the colors/design, wait for the next style even though I'm far from finished with style 1. Like I said before, with heavy armor, each one gets 3 different styles. But they will all be dark based. I will not go on to the next style until I finish the model and the textures for the first design though.

                        I have yet to set skeletal weight for almost anything which is why she is standing still in the above shots. I say its about 35% done so far for skeletal weight. This is why I haven't given it to any testers yet as its totally useless to do so. Testers? Heh, talking to me on aim does wonders I guess. Get to use things I won't release anytime soon.

                        I can't give animations to everything.........it would make things take even longer.

                        Non female version (Probably don't know what I mean) will come after the textures are finalized and the models for everything is done.

                        Other than that, I think this is my first decent heavy armor mod that I have made. Well in my opinion it is lol. Spent like too much time being too detailed on things. Its pretty lame that I cannot make it really look good since FFXI graphics are complete crap. Its like working with a snes game sometimes rofl.

                        I don't have a lot of time to continue working on this as I have 4 exams next week so my weekend is pretty much full. But if my time is managed just right, I can continue to work on this. Hopefully it is and you'll see more of it done. Note that the skeletal weight for most of the stuff still WON'T BE SET AT ALL anytime soon if I do work on it over the weekend.

                            Ok............I think I'm managing my time pretty good........I hope....

                            Anyways, good news. I have finally finalized the textures. I have been working from start to finish making sure the quality of the armor itself is very good. This is something I have failed to do in the past which is why I never release whatever. I kinda wish I never shown the above one, but about 92% of the textures are done.

                            You may notice something when you view these shots. It is nothing like the above shots texture wise! Infact, I think this style for heavy armor 1 is something most people will like since it is not all that dark based.

                            I decided that I do the two hardest colors.......black and white. Most know its pretty tough to get your white or black textures looking good.

                            The reason for it being too dark on the bottom part of the legs/boots is because of vray. It is not my fault really . Here is a shot of what it should look like in game.



                            Some notes......

                            I still cannot show the backside. I'll go further in detail on why:

                            1. Underwear. If you didn't notice, the underwear is not a texture........its a actual model. How many mods have you see that actually make a model of underwear instead of making one with just textures? 0, thats what I thought. Part of the back is finished, but its not fully done.

                            2. The model.......for the whole armor set is not fully finished. I tweaked it a bit more, but its not fully done. If you noticed in the shot in the upper right hand corner of the body plate, clipping issue there. I didn't even notice it until I rendered it in max. There are some things I want to add to the gloves, but I am not sure if I want to add it yet. Hmm, would it be better if I give you statistics?......

                            Body : 80% (Includes everything that is on the body minus the body plate)
                            Body Plate : 90%
                            Legs : 100%
                            Boots : 99%
                            Gloves : 90%

                            Textures
                            Body : 100%
                            Legs : 70%
                            Boots : 99%
                            Gloves : ??%

                            3. I did not do the back of the leggings yet. That is probably the main reason I don't want to show the back side.

                            4. You are probably wondering if I'll create a helm. I did say I was going to make headgear. Problem is, I'll probably do different types because I don't think one is going to satisfy a outfit/armor. So I am going to make a helm, but its not going to be anytime soon. If there is one thing you must know is that I am no good at making helms which is why I never bothered with it. Infact, I have never made a helm...sure I made headgear like my crown back in my SK2 project, but as far as helm, nope .

                            5. Nope, haven't set skeletal weight yet. Once the model is done and the issues, I will start this annoying task. After I feel that things are halfway decent, I will let some testers test out the actual armor in game and report back to me. Hopefully, things will go well.

                            6. Wondering why I haven't named this armor set yet? I may be creative (Well thats what I think ), but I am not good at making up names. Wait another time . It does remind me of the angel of death or something lol.

                            Hmm I think thats it. I'll wrap it up now...

                            I do not know about you, but I am very eager to see this in motion! This is probably my best heavy armor that I crafted that I actually like in about 3-4 years lol. I think I am going to revise some of the weapons I have alraedy created and make it match the armor, but I am not ready to do this until I get this baby in motion ;P. I am very tempted to make a EM version, but I don't see it happening anytime soon. Its basically a thought floating in my head at the moment.

                            Anyways, if I can set the skeletal weight for most of things you see in those shots correctly, then maybe I will get closer to releasing sometime. Its going to be a pain in the ass though....................................too much thinking.....and I mean a hell of a lot.
