    So are you just changing the Valkurm Emperors placeholder? All the rest show up as Damselflys?

      <sigh>This would be fine if everyone was honest in the world. But They arent. So now this just gonna bring out cheaters, who will use this to gain an advantage over others. Once again and its One small Step back to the way things was before. One small step closer to risking SE implementing Advandced Dat Checking Features.

      Knowing you Killed a NM place holder means you know that the NM will be spawning next. This is a total unfair advantage.

        I agree which is why I was asking if its only the placeholder. Same as the coffer .dat or removing mobs from a HNM spawn zone. Should be banned from the game if there was only a way to prove they are doing it.

          Yep, And well this is why I frown so greatly upon such things. SE could implement Filechecks On Key Popular things. I promise its not hard.

          If anyone plays any other type of Online game, (Nprotect, Xprotect, WOW's The Watcher or whatever its called) These Are all small Little Programs that Get Updated on the Fly (everytime you launch the game it checks for an update) They Check for known runnig hacks/cheats etc, the exact same thing can be done to Prevent Windower, or scan dat files size, or check memory values. If they wanted to, it woudln't take them much to do so. Its a seperate program that runs, so no modification to the core files would have to be made to add somethign like this

            Correct, the rest appear as damselflys. The meaning of placeholder is misunderstood though, after the placeholder is killed, either the placeholder or the NM will pop next. The only real advantage it gives other others is not having to kill every single fly in the zone. This can already be done using Widescan in the game, and is widely known by most. However, if you really wish for me to remove this post, I will.

              I would like it if you would, and I think i'm not the only one that would agree.

              Its nothing personal against you. And yes there are always methods for gaining advantages etc, that people use. Like I say If somone wants do it they will find a way regardless. But, lets not make it easier and more accessable for them.

              I know not everyone would use this to cheat, but the fact is people will.

              And I just would hate to see dat modding get scraped do to modifications that are possible such as these. And I know I say it alot, but they could add in checks, and i'm not just saying that. We already know this from The game crashign if a Model won't load or is missing. That they added a while back.

                  Well A cheat is a cheat. Its not a major one but, it still gives players and advantage over other players without it.

                  And don't take it personnaly, becauase we would do the same thing about anything else like this, such as swaping chest/coffer files. Or any other methods of cheating via dats.

                  Just like everyone got banned tomorrow, using custom armors. There's nothing anyone could say, because while minor it may be its still a violation of the rules.

                    This has been used forever by serious NM campers, change the name of an nm to XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX or something so it is very easy to spot it on WS or from afar among many other things.

                    It is obviously going to be used by people who want an advantage, name change on placholders also give a huge advantage in that you know when an NM is possible to pop. Why camp certain timed NMs for instance if the placholder is not up, this is how GS know when to camp and when not to.

                    I really do hope these mini cheats don't get too popular, if square decide to put a stop to it they could very well stop all dat modding..which is a fun side aspect to the game

                      Being able to keep track of the PH gives you a LARGE advantage over other campers. Yes this can be done with WS, but even then you need to know what you are doing and it means you need to either be a Rng or BSt or have Rng/bst subbed. And even then a Bst WS will give you a different list then a Rng's WS.

                      But the main thing is the WS system can easily be messed up by your competition. If they randomly kill tons of mobs in the area you won't be able to track the PH. This iswhat makes camping lizzy and the emp such a pain. If you could just change it's name then there is nothing anyone can do against you.

                        Hmm... how interesting. People disaprove of my OP, so I remove it. After it's removed, I get posts saying thanks... and rep downs with no comment.

                        Not like it matters, I just find it interesting that lurkers act the way they do.

                              Yeah, being able to identify certain things like that outside of how the game design permits is way to advantageous. Don't know about anyone else but I haven't had that hard a time targeting the PH'd using just Widescan and keeping tracks of spawns.

                              I've had about 85% success rate of having the NM spawn next to me by just using Wisescan. Success rate improves the more people actually kill the mobs in the area.
