The error of using the VRS, pls help!!

I had installed the directX.9 and both JP and English VRS,
It is the first time that I use this software.
I found a problem:
In English Version,
when click "Read FFxi Model", a pop up prompt said that "The Dat file list is updating", Please wait.
I had wait about 2 hrs ... nothing happen. It seem It cant function well.
So, I try to use the JP version, It's the same.
but I read this forum, some people can use it properly.

Is it the VRS should be located in the C:/
but my FF is in the E:/

I had used the VRS in both C:/ and E:/, the result is the same....
Should I need to install the FF in the C:/ ???

Who can help me?

When you go to the screen where you load the models, click on the Property tab, and verify that the FFXI Installation Folder path is set to the right location. Ex: E:/SquareEnix/Playonline/FFXI, or whatever your path to your FFXI directory happens to be.

In the tool box,



my text in the tool box are:

FFXI model read
FFXI model save
FFXI motion read
FFXI motion save

but when I click the "FFXI model read"

no this tool panel pop up...

just a pop up prompt said that "The Dat file list is updating"!!!

How can I set the path of the FF?

Yeah I remember that now. When I first started up VRS and loaded a model it did the same thing to me, but the .DAT list eventually updated after about a minute or so. My guess is that it's searching your C: for a FFXI directory, but since it can't find it, it's locking up. Sorry, but I don't know how to fix this unless you want to install FFXI to its default path on your C:.

For Ye Grumpy tutorial picture, his FF is in the G: ..... haha!!

hope I dont need to re-install the game

another 1 problem(off-topic) is about convert gender/race software,

I dont know why the elv male Face 1A is disappear.

when I choose 1A, it will show 1b face (the black hair guy)...

when I choose 1b, I will show 2A face ....

Btw, where can I find the VRS previous version?
