Treasure chest .dat

i can't remember for the life of me where i saw it.... but there is a chest dat change that makes it look like a big banner like thing, makes it easy to see, if anyone knows please tell where i can get it . ty ^^

I think that falls under the realm of hack, cheat, etc., and not just simple .dat change. So far as I know .dat changes that give users unfair advantages over other users aren't permited on this forum. I'd try another forum, maybe.

Its the same thing as doing a .dat swap to make all the mobs in a particular zone disappear. It allows you to more easily obtain highly contested things. How is that NOT cheating?

well isn't exactly what you all do on here illegal as well... .dat changing is against TOS. even if it is just armor and motions... still against TOS

Why yes, yes, it is against the TOS. Dat swapping is a violation of the rules. Doesn't mean the people who do it are also cheaters. Cheating, I believe, is where the admins have chosen to draw the line in these forums. Though I could be wrong, as I'm not a mod.

We had a thread on this pretty recently, actually. Regarding one of the assaults or something. That one wasn't deleted, so I'm going to assume that it was permissible. I could be wrong, of course.

No need to go on the offensive. I just said that we had another thread about this very subject a couple of weeks ago, and no one mentioned anything about it being cheating. I can definitely understand that POV though. Especially since it's only available to PC players.

We posted at same time. Hense Why I posted after you. Either way, I don't (personally) think its anything short of cheating. But I have od views about what constitutes cheating, perhaps.

Are you referring to .dat swapping in general, or just swapping .dats for chests and things? Because the latter I can understand, but the former is kind of a lost cause.

I have only ever swapped menu and text .dats to make my game look better. Not to get an advantage over other players. Although I have to admit chest .dat swapping is tempting, it's not really necessary, as I've never really had any problems finding coffers or chests before.

Well, personally, I don't give a rats ass if people .dat swap for "pretties" and "shinies" because ultimately I don't care if I run around in a little pink tutu on your screen. Consequently, if you want to see me run around in a little pink tutu, I wear blessed + nobles combo. Dat swap away.

When you (in the general sense) are now able to do sommething easier than me (in the general sense) because you have .dat swapped, then you are cheating, even if we arne't directly competing. For example, swaping out darters = cheating. Not because I am down there with the darters, trying to outclaim something before you do; but because if I -were- down there with the darters, you'd have unfair advantage. Swapping out chests to big floating arrows that say "LOOK HERE" gives you an unfair advantage over me. That's cheating.

Swapping out chest .dat files to make them look like the dead man's chest from Pirates #2, I don't give a rats ass, cause again, thats just a visual element.

Windower + Plugins is where my views tend to raise eyebrows.
