Re: English Version of Virtual Reality Studio is out!
Hallihallo
It seems like there is no list of the motions.
What would be the best format for such a list?
When i think about creating such a list then i
have the following in my mind when i want to open it:
Things I want to do:
+)I want to find a specific motion.
+)I want to find a specific motion that i want to replace.
+)I want to have an overview where are the motions stored for one motion.
+)Using the Model Viewer-motionorder may be useful for finding the motion i want.
Things i don't want to do:
-)Browse one DAT of the motions it holds.
And so this format seems to be the most useful for me:
--------
Race Gender
Section
motionname; description UB=Upper Body LB=Lower Body AR=Armor; place in DAT.DAT
--------
Example(don't abuse these dats, the motions aren't in there :p):
---------
Tarutaru Male
Does somebody have a better format in mind?
I am thinking around that such a list would be useful and
waiting for Airships or HP/MP to recover leaves some time
for creating such a list slowy, step by step.
Re: English Version of Virtual Reality Studio is out!
I noticed that there's an option when you load the model to either tie or not tie things to the skeleton frame. Maybe your issues with the speed of the motions are related to this option (It might be checked/unchecked by default in the JP version) You should at least play around with every single option...
Re: English Version of Virtual Reality Studio is out!
Nomido: That format seems good to me. It tells you exactly what you need to know to find a specific animation.
Aeni: I know why we're having problems controlling animation speeds. I suppose it's possible that there's an option, like the one you mentioned, that disables the operation of saving the Motion Thinning Rate to the .DAT. The reason I doubt this is because the MTR value reflects a change in Model Viewer, but not when actually playing the game. It's like FFXI completely ignores any change of this value. I don't know if this is due to a bug in VRS, or an inherent limitation in FFXI.

I would bet it's a bug in VRS. This would fall exactly in line with the texture bug that VRS has. VRS only reads the DataSize of the first Texture loaded into it during that session. So when you save it back out it gives the wrong DataSize for any of the other texutres after the first one. Which the effects of the error are unnoticable in ModelViewer, but can cause stripping, alpha mapping, and artifact errors in the game.
It's why I was curious of the .dat's structure. Kind of hoping that the MTR error is just a Hex Edit to fix like the Texture bug is.

Re: English Version of Virtual Reality Studio is out!
Hmm wellI tried randomly for a few hours benweetn exp pt's, dynamis, HNM's, sea, sky, work, sleep and haven't really figured how to slow down the animation, it seems to just kill it compleatly or freeze and or crash VRS.
Anyway I posted Mhe Quryobhi's (Fishing guild mithra in port windhurst) "Bend over looking at the fish" emote on my site. and also Naja Salaheem (Salaheem sentinals president) Mithra walking style on my site. I never could figure how to make every weapon be placed in the hand instead the floor for that aka make the emote think during that emote to place stuff as if it was a club to be put in the hand.

If anyone cna fix that, it would be nice
It's a pretty easy fix, only 1 skeleton per weapon type that you have to correct. Total of about 7 or 8 skeletons once you get it all.

Its easy if ya know how :p
I jsut started recently using VRS again after it messedup on me about 4-5+ months ago so dunno how to work with skeletal frames etc yet
but i'd be nice if someone can do the easy (according to macht) to make it where every weapon is held like a club over the shoulder while walking, having a great sword or lance slung over the shoulder might look sexy actually O_o

It's easier then starting from scratch because you already have a base movement you copy by taking it from the club's motion and copying to the other weapon's skeletons. Then it's just a few small adjustments so the weapon is sitting right.
If I was at my computer to do it probably could do in like 30 min.
