I want to make a custom hair style, but I have no idia how to change how it looks like, what programs to use, I know about VS, but I can't seem to get it to work. I'm fine with reskining, but changing the aparence...not as much.
If anyone can direct me in the correct derection I'de apreciate it. Programs, how to not cause it to explode, some nice tips in general.

If you are only looking to change small things like make an already existing hair mesh longer, then I would suggest using Metasequoia. You will need Modelviewer as well in order to convert the .dat into a .mqo for metasequoia to access it.
If you are planing to add to the model, for example making twin ponytails then you will need to use VRS since it is capable of adding to the mesh. For the similar thing of moving vertex's though you could also use VRS instead of Metasequoia.
The advantage Metasequoia has is it's still the best tool for creating UV Mappings.

Pretty much trying to change the hairstyle of f6-a elvaan female...just vrs dousn't want to open.
VRS program has a few conditions to it. Some of them seem to be a result of the program not getting transfered from non-Unicode Japanse correctly. The other issues to it is it is picky about were you place the program.
For the Japanese VRS place it all under "C:\VRS" and it should run with no problems for you. For the VRS Translated (English) it works best if placed under "C:\VRS Translated" but it will give you a .DLL error if you are in English(United State) non-Unicode setting. The .DLL error goes away if you change to Japanese non-Unicode.
If you want the VRS (Both English and Japanese) to work as intented then I suggest doing the following for the easiest method:
1. Get JP VRS, extract all contents so the file structure is under "C:\VRS" so VRS.exe should execute if you typed "C:\VRS\VRS.exe"
2. Make sure you use VRS.exe to activate it (Virtual Reality Studio.exe is the wrong executable).
3. Run the JP VRS when the system is in the Japanese non-Unicode
4. Get EN VRS, extract all content so the file structure is under "C:\VRS Translated" so VRS.exe should execute if you typed "C:\VRS Translated\VRS.exe"
5. Make sure you use VRS.exe to activate it.
6. Run the EN VRS when the system is in the English(United States) non-Unicode.
7. Run the JP VRS when the system is in the English(United States) non-Unicdoe (For some odd reason this fixes a few issues with the JP version not loading all the Plug-ins, this includes the FFXI Import, FFXI Export, FFXI Motion Import, FFXI Motion Export)
Login for VRS is just User: Guest and Pass: Guest
That's how I got mine to work with VRS and all the Plug-ins are working as intended. Otherwise if I didn't do it this way then the models texture doesn't show up in the second Scene Window, they both just like the same mesh and skeleton. Along with that plug-in not working a number of others don't respond right either. With it setup that way it's actually been very stable for me, it has crashed on pulling a few .dats but some of the time it's because I tried to have the system match a Mithra Mesh to a Hume Skeleton on a single Import (It confuses the system and it can't make the 1-to-1 match since a Mithra Skeleton is different from a Hume).
Outside of that the only times I've had VRS crash is things like:
1. Pulling a certain 1h swords and shields (Tower Shield) for Hume Female.
2. Importing the Mesh to Hume Female Child, it actually pulls in the skeleton just fine. Something about it's mesh though it doesn't like.
3. Importing certain .dats that are not on the Modelviewer List (With the exception of the NPCs were the modelviewer specifies that they bundled the NPCs together even though the models are different).
An issue I've had with VRS though is some of the stuff it seems to mess up the UV Mapping, so when it textures the images they are just a complete mess. Still trying to figure out how to fix everything I've tried so far hasn't really worked.
200? should of only been like 86. Missed something on the search.
easy site to reach basically told you it in the search requirements... almost.
Waiting so see how that website is like after the 14th, and see what the new EN VRS is like too. Hopefully it's more stable and maybe that UV Mapping issues will be fixed.
